• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

haha I wondered why you had such a HD bumper. Probably makes parking downtown much easier. Just sweep those Subarus and Volvos out of the way...

Haha, it sure does, until the tree-huggin hippes get all worked up about how I just smashed in the rear of their car. Pfft.....

Actually, that my my dads old truck. We used to do excavation together, and that truck has been put to the test a few times hauling equipment. He put the bumpers on the truck, and had them powdercoated red. He said he likes the color combo (even though he is color-blind, and can't see red). I've gotten used to the color of them, and it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. Actually, I feel it helps my truck stand out, which is ok for business! And BEST of all, it matches my bikes**************************************** Husky & Honda

Yeah that really sets your truck off. I had a Ford that I used for work that had F&R bumpers like that. A miny van turned in front of me and it was brutal. I was happy to see that although driver acted like he was blindsided with a louisville, he was basicly ok. His little car was totaled though and the Ford suffered a broken turn signal lens.

Yeah, and they want to make OUR rigs illegal because they're not safe...How about making the cars with less metal than a Copenhagen lid illegal instead, seems to me those are the rigs that are unsafe...

Hey, did anyone think to pick up my super-duper cool genuine authentic silver insulated CafeHusky sippy cup? I loaned it to JonXX for coffee Saturday morning and never saw it again. I hope you took it home with you, Jon! If so, use it in good health and moto happiness, and let it be a reminder of our totally kick-ass ride that day :) If someone else ended up with it, same thing! I'm sure I'll get another one someday

I gotta run some errands and then I plan on posting more photos tonight :D

You just love to keep us standing on one foot then the other waiting, right?:)
BTW I was one of the last dogs hung and your cup wasn't on the table when everything was packed.

we know the guys who have it you will need to come and get it in person,BRYON and BILL

Yep...We saw it the next morning, I put it where I thought sure you'd see it (rather than taking the ten extra steps to the Pleasure Palace) and promptly forgot about it. Bill snagged it and we immediately started conjuring ransom ideas ;)

(Thanks again, and sorry about that)

Of course it wasn't...it was cupnapped and held for ransom!

Busted! :busted:

Cupnappers! Here amongst us! I'd be willing to pay a small ransom to get it back, but I'd be just as happy to let the cupnappers proudly use/display it in their awesome shop  You're welcome, and no problem, Jon :)

There's an idea, then when she comes up there you could send her home with another bike. :)

Great...just what I need...another bike! Might as well get another hole in my head while I'm at it because I need one of those, too!
Anyone want an SV650 with 30k miles on it? Wife's bike, never been dualsported...I swear!

Ok, time to set these photos free from their prison home in my computer!! BTW, I downloaded JonXX's photos...and maybe someone else's?...and I can't remember which ones are which, and I can't remember which ones I posted already. Sorry if you have to look at them twice :excuseme:

Jon and I had a great ride together, and returned to camp to a rip-roarin' fire....

Excuvator is up to no good, I'm sure...

JonXX, who would become my partner-in-crime the next day, and Bryon... (nice blue jacket, Jon!)

Not much of a fire, I know. We didn't have much wood to burn but we did the best we could and soldiered on bravely through the night.
Thanks, Moomba, Stacey and crew!

We all bailed on the fire about midnight after a super-fun evening of telling lies and drinking, and it was only after I walked away from the fire that I realized we'd been carousing beneath a stunningly clear sky filled with scadzillions of stars! That's a lot of stars, folks.

I guess those clear skies contributed to the rather frosty morn...

I thought of my Husky brothers sleeping in their enclosed trailers and such and, true to my kind and compassionate nature, thought to myself "Better them than me!"

Yeah, it was cold, but Bryon took good care of us...

The bikes were prepped and waiting for us...

These two look like they're planning a 30-mile 4-hour ride through deep snow, don't they?

I spent an hour talking to these fine gentlemen and I can't for the life of me remember their names! :( I remember the stories about mom racing enduros, though!

One of the Max's, a very nice gentleman of 14...and of impeccable taste! He was on a CR150...

More later. Sorry it's taking so long! I've been cooking Thanksgivingey stuff and trying to get my act together so I can go out to the desert for a week over Thanksgiving. Wish me luck, because so far it ain't happenin' :busted:

I need to take more pictures of people.

I try to make a conscious effort to take photos while hanging around camp. Some people might feel weird with me aiming my camera at them, but nobody's ever said anything to me about it. These are some of my favorite photos :)
