• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

NW Gathering Round 3 - 2012 - Ride Report!!!

Ok, I just split a bunch of posts off from the Planning thread to this Report thread. Hope that is ok with everyone. :)

Fine with me! I'm just glad I haven't lost my mind! I seriously had to wonder if I'd done it late Thursday after returning from the bar and just didn't remember. You know how bad my memory is... :o

In case you had not noticed, my memory is not that great either... I had a great time though!

Who are you?

Was good riding with you man.

4 corners was supremely epic on Sunday. 42deg, no snow and no dust. The wife and kid had fun knocking the dust off their Honda's.

yep, Sunday proved to be the best day and almost no one on the trails. Epic.

there is some really good gopro footage laying on the ground on out there :banghead: (lost my gopro)

6 degrees effect on my CHERRY COKE on back the TERRA 650 ,maximum capacity without bursting.Excavtors daughter had 3 jugs of water that didnt freeze and nobody was going to drink it.,because no way it was really water.BALLOON 054.jpg

There would have been more better but a) you kept waving me by and b) my card filled up on that last uphill pull before camp 2510. Didnt get any of the "relaxing" part.

Great, my phone doesnt like the quote function.

That's OK, I knew you were talking to me :)

We need to take the SMs out one of these days and have some real fun :busted:

Just an FYI to anyone who rode my 165. I pulled the HGS pipe off this afternoon and re-installed the FMF Fatty. I found an amazing thing. When I installed the pipe the pipe shim that sits between the pipe and cylinder must have become dislodged. It was partially folded over and sitting across the exhaust port partially blocking the flow. I am stunned the bike ran as well as it did. That pipe is winging its way to North Carolina tomorrow to be used by someone more capable than myself. :D

It was a pleasure to see everyone again. Thank you to Bill and Bryon for their generous contributions! Thank you to those of you who treated Walt's bike with all due respect!! With regard to the comment that I "can really put away the beer," I resemble that statement, but on a ounce per pound basis, I want a recount! I may have finished 3rd that night!:)

(snort!!) Dude! Really? There were only 3 of us there and I wasn't even drinking beer! Brian was driving so I think it's pretty clear who finished in 1st. :busted:

Great day, great ride, great people.
Thanks to all those who organized this gathering. It was really nice to meet and ride with fellow Husqvarna riders, trade stories and ideas.

I really appreciate everyone I rode with who patiently waited at intersections and made sure we all stayed together. Much appreciated from a rookie single track rider like me. Kevin, Jon, Russ, Jonxx, Tammi, and Joshua; it was great to ride with you. Hope we can ride together again.

Here's some pics from the staging area.

Kevin explaining the considerable merits of his WB165 2-stroke, conjured up by a magician named Walt who lives in Montana and made for old guys like us... this sounds too good to be true!

Head 'em up, move 'em out! The soon-to-be-lost Gang of Seven heads out for a "fast 10 mile loop" which turns into a 30 mile, 4-hour adventure. What a ride!

Next year I will show you the 12 mile loop!

Russ, looking forward to it! Thanks again.
If you ride down here again, let me know. East Ft. Rock and China Hat have some great riding.

Like Kevin said, it's like riding in sand...
