Why, he was doing the same thing to a 7000.oo 511? Where would one abuse a 9K bike?

Ps, Im with you, I think all the bikes are WAY overpriced new, but it is what it is so they say.

I just road it in my alley lol I retract everything I have ever said negative about 2t power, this bike easily lifts the front end up from idle and will do so from allmost a stall in first gear, Wow ! Going to need to be on my game when riding ! Transmission is silky smooth so far 1-3 and has flywheel up the yin-yang compared to all my 4t's of the past, starts easily in gear with e-button.

That bike will blow away the 511, especially off-road.

Jeez it's like I watching my kids taking their first steps again haha. You will love that thing.
There is magic lurking within a modern 300 2 stroke.

Yeah it sounds like that bike is to much power for your mid life crisis, I'll take it so you don't hurt yourself lol
So did you check out Beta's? How did you decide?
It's Sunday and you still haven't really taken it out yet, I don't know how you're doing it lol

Ha ha ! Yeah , I went with the ktm because it has more podium finishes that all others and lots of aftermarket . The Beta suspension reviews aren't the best iether. I will not need to by anouther dirtbike untill I quit riding all together . The Beta is still teething while the KTM is like a full set of choppers with lumineers :)

I don't own either bike so I can't give an honest opinion but from what I've read the WR300 is on par if not better than the EXC300. Sounds like you drank
the expensive coolaid. Nevertheless you made a smart decision getting a true woods bike.

Only downside I can see....No Asphalt For YOU!!! So when are you moving to a non-nanny state where you can plate that pumpkin?

If I can get a fare offer for it I will part with it . It will work on my new bike too.

A non-nanny state ? I think the point of getting that bike was because he's a dirt guy, right ? I'm not sure where Castaic is but in NorCal there's
enough woods trails to keep me busy for a lifetime.

I briefly looked at the WR on the showroom floor the day I went and got my Ktm , also read shoot outs and watched the vids on YouTube . :) I am a detail and functionality nut and the two don't compare in my eyes. Obvious differences were Ktm's wide ratio six speed , e start , aftermarket options , better quality components, superior design overall . Less money I will need to spend after purchase to be happy with what I got. I drank pleanty of kool aid in the past and I am pretty sure I got the bike that fits me. Straight away I knew the WR wasn't the bike for me , on paper or in person .

I mean a state with less stringent smog regs. I know it's hard for is Cali folks to remember, but once upon a time you could put a dual sport kit on a bike like that and get a plate. Even harder still in the believe it or not department, there are states where you can still do it! Castaic is just over the grapevine from Bako. I do quite a bit of work out there so I know what he's up against.

All I need is a warp9 front brake setup and I have dianeese track suit allready and kept my street tires from my 511.... The minute I leave this state it's bullshit will follow me to the next state lol

Im anxious to ride a 2012 300 XCW soon. I friend of mine just bought a low-hour used one a few weeks ago. It will be interesting to ride it back to back with my WR.
Just to be a goon, I think Im gonna get orange graphics on white plastics for the 2014 race season for my Husky. I will be telling people its a 2014.5 model haha.
