In the car world, we used to say "There's an #ss for every seat". That is the reason why ANY Pontiac Aztecs were sold haha.
My point being, everybody buys something different these days for one reason or another. If there's a Husky under your butt, you probably dont go around telling everyone you know how awesome a Honda is.

I own a KTM 300 XC-W, so I feel justified in commenting here. It's a great 2t bike, it's very fast and light weight. It's great on the mx track and has won quite a few desert races down here. How does it compare to my 511? It does not, no way, not going to happen.

this is true. MOstly because it's much lighter with as much power, so that power to weight ratio is what really sets it apart.

So tell me, what do you have done to your 511? Cause I'm sure you haven't kept it stock. Also what year is your 300?

Now while I did ride a yamaha yz250 before I got my husky, I will say that it was a good bike and I think you'd be happy with one. It won't have the engine of your 300 but it will have much better suspension and handling. Plus with just a little bit of money, you can get the acerbis plastic kit and a graphics kit and you have one seriously sexy bike! Just to prove my point, I feel everyone should check out the video below and tell me if you don't think that bike is great looking (and sounding!).

I hate MX suspension for offroad , I don't want to buy a flywheel weight when the Ktm has a offroad crank , I don't like how the yamaha engineered around Hondas frame with the reassessed vallies that look to be hard to clean(I hated cleaning my 511), I don't like yamahas graphics , I don't like 5-SP MX trannies, I want a head light, I want no suspension linkage ! I don't like yamaha ! never have ever since my papa told be they weren't balanced right when I was 8 years old ! Yamasucky haha

You made a great decision my rearwheelin friend. Enjoy that bike. Maybe you and i will ride some day with our two 300s and see how they compare.

Really man! I have seen this before. Buy a new brand and then come here and tell us what crap the old brand was even though you seemed to love it before. I don't get this mentality. If you think your onto something new and better go to KTMtalk and tell them. This is a husky forum. I have no issues with you or KTM or any other motorcycle just dislike seeing the "I love huskys" then buys X bike and all of a sudden huskys suck and X bike rules. Thats fine to feel that way but us in the Husky bike forum still like huskys and want to talk about them without you telling us how superior X bike is with goofy videos and posts that your new bike is light years ahead.

Yet the DS DRZ400 seems to hang with him just fine. And the 511 would not be sliding all over it would be hooking up and moving forward. Forgiving? Looked like a handful. Goofy I tell ya. The KTM300 is a fantastic bike, so is the 511 and about 200 other bikes.

I owned a BMW I thought ? I never said I loved huskies tooth and nail :) I liked my 511 just had to get rid of it because by the time I wear it out I will have to take it to ZipTy and by then they will have moved on to the KTM/Husky and the 449/511 spare parts will be gone to the guys who actually ride a lot !

I'm not really upset about any of this and like the guy just fine. I have just seen this scenario play out many times.

However, just to throw out some husky love... My 310 has superior handling by a long way over the ktm300.

I am *really* getting tired of this thread.
Have you considered simply riding your new bike and enjoying it?
