Good to hear David. I have the stock 125 Fatty pipe with my WB165 for now (waiting on the 200 pipe) and have 13 -51 gearing Sounds like I may need to look around for a 48 when I get the 200 pipe.

I honestly think a 13 49 would work in my riding terain,I hardly get out of 3rd gear, only when the trail opes up a bit.

Just go 14/51, about the same numerically as 13/48.

I only torque the lower triple pinch bolts to 1/2 the spec. If not you risk wearing the fork internals and the plating off the tubes.

I am running 14/52 gearing . Tried 14/50 and while the engine would pull it, it just wouldn't jump off corners. I am running 14/52 and a larger tire. 110/100X18.

I have used both. I dont notice any difference besides the extra mileage. The IMS doesnt fit as well as the stocker but does its job. You can still get to the plug easy which usually my main concern.

    John,

My initial impression wasn't great. It sticks out farther as it is wider in its mid-pipe section. It also gives away a little on the bottom/early mid and that is where I spend a lot of time while riding. But once I had some serious time on the pipe I grew to like it. I got used to where it sits and the more apparent hit and higher revs were fun in the desert where I ran it for ~20 hours. I am very curious to get Blake's and Kelly's opinion on the pipe in more gnarly single track like I ride most of the time at home. After riding a bunch of steep long climbs combined with hopping and flopping over snow covered logs yesterday, I have to say I really appreciate the power band of the Fatty.

OBTW, I now have well over 50 hours on my top end and it still rips. It might be time to ring it but I am going to wait until mid-summer and 100 hours.

Cool thanks for your thoughts on it. I'm a mid range rider with short burst to the top so I look forward to getting that Fatty bolted up. I just picked up a like new 05 RM1215 and have been putting so time on it as I wait for the pipe for the 165. I was thinking the little RM rips pretty good until.....yesterday when I rode my WB165 after an hr on my RM. I almost looped the WB :D!
