    My apologize here ...

Tinken is right, and i forgot the Details and how my Bike is Set up.

    - Akropovic Muffler from day one Installed.......... Australia Standard !!............................................................Flame out's every ride.

    - Plugs on the right spot and Oxy Sensor out. Standard at my Husky Dealer in Victoria.......................................Flame out's.

    - Map 3 installed at ~ 250km. It did make the bike more responsive , ................................................................but didn't fix any flame outs.

    - TPS Calibrated at the Dealership (Warranty) because Bike didn't start properly when Hot stalled..........................helped , but not with flame out's

    - FMF Powercore Installed (~680km ) after it was brought to my attention here at CH.!!It's going to fix the flame outs........ .....No it did not at all.

    - 680km INSTALLED ZIP TY Breather with the hose straight to the Air box. Run 1200ml Oil and got rid of the Oilspill. GREAT IMPROVEMENT !

    - Break in Time and miles. After 2200 km since Sep 2013. all of us would think it's well ridden and broken in......................Flame outs every ride.

    - with near 1000km , i installed a Ground Cable , just as mentioned here in CH..........................be honest, i cant really say it helped...........

    - for all of you want to know how many km compare to ONE mile//// ... 680km ~ 405mi /////// 2200km ~ 1310 mi 1mile = 1.68km.

    - For myself, i check in here quite often... probably because i was not totally happy with my bike. When i see a tread which makes sense to me as a Mechanic, i usually get on it right away.
But i am aware of, it might not help at all and i wasted some time.
But for the this mod so far.... it helped on my bike and 2 of my Friends here. Both have 2012's 449 and a 511.

Hope this helps and is enough Info for the Normal Trail Rider and Bike Enthusiast .

IF you feel not Confident to remove Butterfly you self or do any other mod's .... please visit your Dealer or Mechanic.

If you are a PRO rider, perhaps then you have to consider to buy some Electronic's.....

And if someone want's to Ban me now from CAFE HUSKY, feel free to do so.

I do agree about the PCV, I installed ziptys map for FMF/stockairbox,
bike ran best ever. still had a few stalls/flameouts snapping throttle
at low RPM. adjusted up 5% at 1500, all the way to 3000 and have not
had an issue since once bike is properly warmed up. Very Happy.

Tinken... Have you tried 2nd FBW butterfly removal? If so...

    1. What was your impression of the effect?
    2. What is/are the potential negative effect(s), (other than possible damage to sensitive electronics)?

If you read through the thread its quite clear.

Potential damage to the fbw motor if it were to freak out for some reason.

    Increased engine braking.

    More abrupt throttle response/engine response.

    More abrupt power delivery.

You all should wait about a week and I will give a very good report of the secondary butterfly removal on my converted supermoto bike.

I have the power commander and auto tune which will definitely help as to adjust for any fueling issues that arise.

I just got back from a short ride on mine. All tight single track stuff. Bike was good, not too snappy or anything. Not a whole lot different than before. Just no dead throttle.

Not to be argumentative.... but... has anyone (Tinken or anyone else) actually done the FBW butterfly removal modification and found it to be a problem?
    ALSO...
Has anyone actually DONE the butterfly stud removal and found IT to be a problem?

huskyluv: Wait a WEEK! That's a long time... What if the zombie apocalypse comes and I have a hanging idle?

I have PCV, map 3, race pipe etc. but still get the hanging throttle regularly - will grinding off the stub fix this issue ?

Yes, but sometimes it is caused by the bypass air screw being out too far. If I wind mine out too far the idle hangs for a few seconds before it comes down. So check the screw first, if not, then yes grind the stub off

thanks everyone - this is an interesting discussion
I would prefer not to remove FBW butterfly or grind the stub off.
The bike is awesome now that's its run in and pops 3rd gear wheelies under throttle alone.
I just need to sort the hanging throttle issue so will check the idle screw which I haven't touched since the dyno tune and also for air leaks

where is the vacuum nipple Tinken - is it prone to leak ?

The arrow in the image below points to the idle screw. Below that you can see the brass nipple capped off. I have since removed the vacuum plug and replaced with a solid bolt. The vacuum caps tend to leak and cause idle hangs. You may want to lower your idle down in 1/8th turn increments. If this causes stalling, increase fuel ratios in the beginning of your map to compensate (1500-2000 rpm.
