• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I was talking to Bill at BMP last weekend and we have decided to go for NW Gathering #3 at China Hat again. Our plan is to give early November, 7-11, 2012 a try, there might be a little moisture to hold down the dust by then.

Big game hunting and all the race event are over by mid October so traffic on the trails should be reduced.

While this is an event in the NW, anyone who can get here is welcome. We love showing new folks the territory.

This is a no-host gathering of Cafe Husky denizens and friends.

I'm always game for a EFR trip.

I've got a buddy whose familiar with the single track around hoodoo, so a side trip may be in order.

Kline Butte as well
They have added some near 'trials' trails at the north end of Kline; unfortunately they have also restricted more area on the south end. It is handy for a day trip from the Valley but its getting tough to avoid looping back on yourself in less than 3 miles.

Just a option to mix it up for a day , it is close to EFR for those that get tired of the quad freeway

Welp, I thought I would be back in the saddle by then... Doc says first of the year..... Count me out this year...

You are welcome to come and hang out, keep the beer cold, tend the fire, scavenge for critters to grill....

I know, I was told the same thing by my buddies.. "just come hang out".... Ya'll are a bad crowd, with bad habits, and influences... I know if I come "hang out", It will lead to much temptation to hop on a little bore, and hit the quad freeway, and......

I vote for duct taping him to the side of an RV and making some sort of game with prizes out of it. Pin the roost on the broken dude. I spoke with Blake yesterday and suggested i could pull him around in a trailer behind the 511. He was not keen on that idea.

 Ya, doc says no riding, but being pulled around in a trailer, while being roosted by the 511 is cool.
