• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Motoz tires

Got about everyone here in the NW running / loving them them :D

These tires sold themselves. I ran them at the reomendation of Mike Kay, loved them, sold to friends, they told friend and now i am in the tire selling biz. :excuseme: Good stuff.

Good one Kelly. I must get to ride up your patch one day. Your vids look great and I have been skiing up at Silverstar and Big White and recon it would be an amazing summer playground-just so picturesque. Would also love to sail in the sounds off the US north west coast and up into your coastline-just stunning looking areas. Oh well one day.

I have extra bikes. Come on over.

I've put quite a few street miles on my Motoz tires and the street is pretty rough on them. They aren't going to last long at this rate.

It's a shame that you're killing such a great dirt tire on the street. What kind of split are you doing? 50/50 dirt/street? I need another wheel set...one for dirt only and one for dual sport rides!

I know, right?

As much as I'd like to say I'm riding 50/50 or better, with commuting and the amount of slab you have to ride to get anywhere with some decent off-roading, it's probably more like 75/25. :(

Hi folks,

After trying a few combos on my TE610 I think I found a winner. I'm running and enduro S/T on the front and an old style Tracula 130/80 on the rear (turned backwards). At 9psi front and 8psi rear w/rimlock this combo EATS UP the soft loam and loose stuff we typically ride here in Ohio. Climbs hills like a goat, turns very well for a big bike and holds off camber stuff like a champ. Mud? what stinking mud? bring it on! Just pity the fool behind you when you grab a handful of wick to clear the muck. I was very surprised that this combo even held well on the dry fire roads that connected the trails. The only thing that I had to get used to is the front at low pressure feels like it was "wandering" a bit on gravel, no biggie, just something to be aware of.

I was previously running an X-Circuit combo which after about 500 miles of mixed I really began to dislike, particularly in the soft stuff. I literally had no decent bite after the rear wore down by about 30%. All the trails and uphills that I had to work at the previous weekend were a total breeze after spooning this combo on.

Good stuff

Just got this from a friend...

Those tires are the fucking shit. I won't ride on anything else offroad. Wanted to say thanks. I have 5 rides on them. Several in dry rock like mccubbins gulch. Just awesome. Hardly any wear.

OK, before I get tarred and feathered for being a noob and not owning a Husky (yet!), I apologize in advance! :D

I ride singletrack in Southern AZ. It runs from sand, hardpack covered with pebbles to huge rocks (lots of freakin' rocks!), and soft sections that are practically powder or silt. Not much in the way of roots or even mud most times. I'm a light rider at 150lbs and ride a KDX200. Current tires are Maxxis SI 80/100 front and IT 110/100 rear. They are great when new but the front wears out really fast and will start to wash out on me. It is time to change them out and I have heard really good reports on the Motoz tires so I thought I should give them a try.

Any recommendations for what might work well for me?
