It definitely looks up to the task. And it makes a great jack plate to lift your bike.

Hopefully temporary. Definitely temporary. If AltRider doesn't come up with a solution soon, I will.

Looks nice and beefy, any chance of a slightly wider angle to see it on the bike?

I think this plate offers the best coverage from what I have seen.

I'd say that the Motosportz plate with wings has a bit better coverage on the bottom and front, with a bit less on the sides. It also interferes with crash bars when untrimmed, but I still love it.

Hey MadDog, how does that skid plate attach in the rear? Does it clamp or does it mount to the frame through the engine bolt or peg bolts?

This plate doesn't come up too high in the front, and I don't think you'd need to trim for most crash bars. The AltRider bars fit without trimming. As far as bottom coverage, this plate is completely solid except for the drain plug hole. It seems to cover just about anything that needs covering from the bottom.

What? You don't have one yet? I believe it uses motor mount bolts at the rear. I haven't had it off yet (and I didn't install it), so I'm not exactly sure how it attaches.

    Just an FYI...
I posted my black Ricochet skid plate and couple other items for sale in the classifieds section if anybody is interested.
KTM bought the bike back from me (lemon) so I'm selling the few farkles I had purchased.
I know I browsed for a while in the TR650 section of the forum and didn't even know there was a classifieds section until I was looking to sell my stuff so thought I would improve mine and whomever else's visibility.
Hope they find new homes on a bikes that runs.

Appreciate the sentiment. I was initially hopeful that it would be repaired or replaced by Husky but the dealer indicated they never got the go ahead to start really digging in to find the problem or replace it from Husqvarna. The dealer even has a slightly used demo on the show room floor. I used it to take video to compare against how mine was behaving as it seemed to run fine. I waited for a year and had the bike at the dealer for 7+ months of that time riding back and forth for a while followed by just leaving it there.
I'm done with Husky for the time being. The experience is a tough pill to swallow. I was really hoping that the BMW architecture with Husky tweeks was the ticket but didn't work out for me. It was strange, Husky/KTM seemed mostly non-responsive until I sent a letter asking for my money back and I got a reply the day it was received shortly followed by an offer to buy it back at full purchase price soon after. More willing to buy back the BMW/Husky than fix or replace it. So... I bought another XR. They have always treated me right even if it is old world tech.
Honestly, gonna miss this forum more. Nice and helpful folks here.
