    Very likely.
My cat muffler was in the box the Akro came in, looked to have never seen fumes through it.
O2 sensor was in a bag, jumper fitted running in map 2 when I collected it.
Still stalled & flamed out though from day one.

The thing that I really don't understand is they have two maps.

One for an O2 sensor closed loop system & cat converter, emission regs legal for road use.

The other map states on the dash 'Race map II'.
The opportunity was there for a non-emissions, closed race circuit map set to be as rich as needed to stop tuning issues, even if only for the supplied slip-on.
If the buyer wanted to risk using it on the road & face legal issues with regard to emissions, that could have been their choice as it is to tune it away from standard by any other means.

It was a lost opportunity in my view, for what it's worth.

My husky is still collecting dust in my shop, have lost motivation on it. I think I may just throw it in the volcano as a sacrifice haha.
Will keep you guys updated if anything changes. Again thank you everyone for the support so far.

That is a real shame as once sorted, they are a great bike to ride! It is worth persuing....

I wonder how many other customers there are out there that feel/felt the same way.
I honestly considered having an 'accidental' fire with my own bike before sorting the efi out myself.
I would have missed out on riding an awesome bike.

If you got an AKRO perhaps you have a Euro/Oz spec bike. Us haoles only get the monster can. I asked about why mine didn't get one, like it's not in the back for selling later right? The sales guy said US bound bikes never have them.

Maybe you need the special AKRO open map? Might be part of the problem?

Don't give up, it made your parking lot way sexier when I drove by in Feb.

If it was me you meant with the Akro, yeah, in Aust. we get different p/no. Ecus to the US & the slip on is supplied.

First, I gotta admit, I have read all this thread so I hope I am not repeating too much here and am not sure on your exact problem ... But I have read some of the other 250cc EFI threads so I do have a clue and they seem scary to me also :0)

No access to a second good running bike? You could swap out parts maybe as troubleshooting ... And if you are at the end, just go back to the beginning and careful go through what changes you have made to date to the bike ... Might be something small in there you have missed ...

Good luck ... And how were the swells last winter on Oahu?

The two things I did which seem to have cured the stalling and flameouts were to tweak the TPS a wee bit and add a quarter to half turn on the air screw to increase the idle speed. These are easy to do and seem to have a big influence on how the motor runs at low rpm.

This is the same for my own bike, the tps & correct idle screw adjustment fixed the flame outs & the butterfly & idle arm removal fixed the lack of response & hanging idle issues.

I mustered up some motivation today and stripped the bike down, checked all the hoses and vacuums, capped off the smog stuff tight, dielectric greased connections, adjusted the air mixture screw, reset the TPS, and took Dangermouse449's suggestion of lowering the fuel on the JD Jetting and took off to check out babes on the beach. Rode for probably 20 miles through traffic, sand, dirt and road and never had one instance of hesitation or surging or stalling! Granted the problems usually come later on a longer ride so maybe I did not ride long enough. I was really hammering on it giving it all she had trying to get it to stumble but never did. Will take it on a longer ride tomorrow but seems some progress was made :)

The power still feels hollow though, I feel like I reach the limits of usable power of each gear before its fully reved out and that its not giving out all the power it has on the mid and top end. I notice it mostly on long wheelies, when I reach the end of 3rd or 4th gear and shift to keep the wheelie going it does not have the power to bring the tire back up if I am not right at balance point.

You have reached the limits of the JD tuner. The pcv has functionality to take your 449 from running great to fire breathing dragon.

Sounds a little like Motosportz bike, he was having a delayed power event too when opening up the throttle again. Removing just the butterfly appears to have cured his bike for him.

Well I am off on a around the world motorcycle trip on a GS800 Starting in Romania. Sold my Husky and everything I own including my buisness today to finance the trip, just as I got the bike dialed in to. I guess I will never know its true potential unfortunately. I have a couple items I never installed on the bike in the classified section. 7602 Radiator Braces and ARC Clutch lever.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for all your continued help. This is by far the most friendly and helpful online community I have encountered. Ride while you can!
