  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR300 love thread.

i see, still sucks i guess but its much better than what i thought. here i was kinda depressed about it even though im on the opposite side of the country! and here it wouldnt even affect any of my bikes..not sure its possible, but i would just be even more of a bike and part hoarder than i am now

Always wanted a black bike so this time when I had the engine out I made the switch. Really love it.

I put a new RENTHAL clutch lever on and on the first ride I was really impressed with the feel and the ease of adjustment.

Pulled the old Barkbusters off and went with the Cycra's instead...great quality kit. Far superior to bark busters.

I went with a Gnarly pipe so I could retain the standard silencer. It does not meet up perfectly which was a little disappointing. P3 Carbon Cover should do the trick.

Guts Ribbed seat for those ultra wet muddy rides!

what doesnt fit up with the gnarly stu? if its anything like the PC platinum 2(fitment wise) then i wont bother!

Not as bad as the platinum.

Where the rear of the expansion chamber goes into the silencer, it doesn't butt up perfectly thats all. I am a bit anal when it comes to things like that. Makes no difference and I would be the only o e to notice but I do. Definitely an improvement all round over the platinum.

I installed a lightly used Gnarly and didn't like the fit. I'm using a QStealth silencer, not the stock. The worst part was that the pipe was higher up where it snakes through the frame, within a hair of the shock reservoir and too close to the airbox. It looked to me like the modding the silencer mounts would fix it. Anyway, I like the performance of the stock pipe with the QStealth better. I am planning to try a TC2 silencer with the Gnarly and hope for a good fit or just plan on modding it then.

I got to ride a brand new Service Honda 500 because the rider couldn't make the hill. Wow, there is no comparison between the bikes. Mine just blows it out of the water in so many ways!

I ride with a guy who has exclusively ridden Service Honda CR500AF's for the last 13 years. I can tell you from his and my experience with those bikes.... the reason your friend didn't make the hill was because of rider error. It wasn't that the CR500AF wasn't up to the task.:D They are incredible machines. Wish I had a beast like that in my garage.:notworthy:

If I had 12K to spend on a bike, it would have been a SH CR500AF. I didn't, so I purchased another great off roader... 2014 WR300.

I can't believe how expensive the exhaust orings are. One of mine went bad & she was spitting oil out the front of the motor. I repacked my silencer as well.I noticed she was spitting oil everywhere the last couple times I ran her. I couldn't find any orings local, so I had to spend over $30 for four of them online. I couldn't find any Viton orings for the silencer, so I had to use a standard one in the ends. One local shop told me he uses standard orings on the pipe where it meets the head, I can't see how that would work.

I bought a pile of them at McMaster Carr for pennies.

looks like a nice old f series as well!
Oh yeah. Nice eye!

1986 F350 single rear wheel, 4x4 crew cab. Has a modified 6.9 IDI diesel. It has a ZF 5 speed instead of the old C6. It's my haul rig. It only comes out of the shop in the spring. Hibernates all winter out of the weather and salt. Love old Ford diesels. My daily driver is another '86 F250 diesel.

Crew cab with the camper.

Daily driver is the tall black one. It has a '92-'97 front clip on it.
