  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE vs TXC

I rode 8 months with the stocker. It has one good hit visible so it did it's job. The Uptite is wider so provides more coverage for side cases.

Ohhhh....I want one....now just have to find an 11 TXC511 that is what I want to pay.

I'd get one of those cheap TXC449s and be very happy ....and I love my 511, but the extra 27cc isn't worth $2-3k. When I got mine the price difference was minimal so going with the 511 was a good value. With the 511 supply dried up and discounts on 2011 449s Im tempted to replace my 511 with a 449 just so I could plate it.

FOUND****************************************!

I am purchasing a TXC511 from ZipTy Racing****************************************!

Ty is such a nice guy....have nothing but good things to say about him.

Congrats, and at least you have the option to plate it in a state that's still America. Here in CornHoleafornia the Department of Moron Vehicholes is cracking down on that kind of fun!:naughty:

Been dying for a dualsport, again.

Can get:

TXC511 that has been plated already from Bills
or
He has an '07 TE510 (I am very interested in this one with carb) 800 original miles
or
local '07 TE450 loaded with 2000 miles on it
or
?

If Bills is able to plate the TXC's, what about the TXC250? That would be awesome plated

Nice call Darren! I've been dreaming about a txc449 for a while. Can't wait to get rid of my te450. You going to bring that thing up north a few hours and go ride? If I ever get a day off work I would love to show you around. Since all the good Flag stuff is illegal now! Lame!

Heck yeah....sounds great. I still have not taken delivery, Ty is doing all kinds of specialness to the bike....I am very excited.

TXC250 with plates has been done alright....
And Im about to pull the trigger on the last '11 TXC449 at Bills so I can have a plated one.

But is the stock one protective enough to get started with??

Depends on the terrain you ride....

I had a feeling you would talk someone into taking advantage of that excellent buy.
But look who it turned out to be!

So you've got a TXC511 and TXC449 (Plated) ? Are you keeping both ? Since you do have both you
can give an accurate description of the power difference (if any) . I'm curious what difference 27 cc's makes (if any)
although you've probably got the 511 a little modded, I'm sure. Comes with Akro, uh' ? Lucky you...

After 1 good ride on the 449 in hilly woods; not my usual riding area I would say it feels like about 27cc difference :-). Both have JD tuners, and the 511 has more hours so its broken in. I do need to drop the countershaft one tooth on the 449, just like I did on the 511. 6th is useless anyplace buy highway with the stock gearing IMHO, and 1st is a bit high for tight stuff.
