    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I also have a SM630 (white version) in the garage but those black wheels on the TE look pretty dang hot. I have a black rear sprocket coming in 40 th to mount up which might improve the "sexy" image somewhat. The factory SM630 has a bit more front brake than this converted set up with the larger front rotor and front brake-relocator but for general street riding it should be adequate.

I did ride a graded dirt road at 60 mph and felt plenty comfortable with the new supermoto tires which surprised me.
 
Fast1, your 630 looks real nice. I am suprised that you haven't twisted the stock chain guide up yet with the dirt you ride. I replaced ours with the sweet black BRP guides. Zero chance of problems with them.

I see people talking about insurance in this thread. I have Progressive, and for our four TE's, it cost's us right about $400 a year for full coverage on all the bikes. I don't like to take chances and have always called the insurance agent to add the bike before leaving the dealers parking lot.

I think I actually knocked it forward when trying to stuff the sumo rear tire in the swing arm during the fitting process. I'll have to move it back. Good catch.
 
Got those beauty last week... I'm happy with the radiator braces.. did the job very good yesterday in the mud

I´d really like black wheel rims on my 630. And I can´t get stickers to stay on the crinkly paint on the swingarms. How did you get them to stay on, Huskyplayer 69?
 
A bottle of wine! I needed a synthetic wine cork to plug the hole in the steering stem. Was too bad I had to drink it all. Cam.
 
New radiators (GPI from ebay) to replace my original ones that were bent as a banana. The GPI aren't the best quality (reflects their $120 price tag) but they have some decent longevity reports I've read here.
For who is wondering the 2010/2011 te250 radiators were the ones i bought that were the same as the 630

In the last shot you can also see some 510 pegs i got from a mate and painted black - they are much better than the 630 pegs, and a straight swap over (need the 510 springs)
 
Is it worth it to put some aftermarket brakes/rotors/calipers on for weight savings/stopping power or are the stock brakes fine? If it could be advised, how do I go about making sure I get ones that bolt up to the wheels?

I sort of feel like I don't stop all that great but I guess that might also be my tires.
 
Don't scrimp on tires, they're the only thing between you and the ground, and get some EBC HH sintered pads, they make a world of difference.

There's a reason for the smaller brakes on a dual sport like the TE, with a supermoto brake setup, you may as well forget about the front brake entirely offroad, because you'll be locking it up and washing out all the time, it's too grabby/responsive.
 
Thanks for that. I guess I will just leave her alone then. Yea, I still got the stock tire up front and a t63 on the rear. Honestly I still do not know how or have not tried to change my tires yet... I had the 63 put on at a shop because I don't know what I am doing... afraid if I even DO manage to get the freaking wheel off I wont be able to remount it or remove/install the new tire, hook up the chain wrong or something. etc. And then I will be stuck in my garage with it unless a tech drove to my damn house... Honestly I am not even sure what size my tires are as the techs helped me pick the size for the rear, so I kind of dont know what tire I would even buy online if I got another t63 to match the rear tire.

If you've got the user manual, it lists stock tire sizes.

Don't feel sheepish about any of that man...we all have to learn. Try reading through the thread on rear tire replacement to gain more feel for sizing (as width varies among manufacturers, etc.) and what worsk well on the 630. Also do a search on tire changing (you'll find lots of great YouTube vids that serve as good tutorials.)

The last thing I ordered was the Pro Taper Metal Mulishia bars, actually have quite a few parts on the way for my 630 right now. I don't want to post any real good pictures of my bike until I have it at least 90% finished. I'll definitely find an appropriate place on here to post some nice pictures in a couple weeks when everything is installed!
