  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Plug and play "switch" for mapping

449TE

Husqvarna
Does anyone know of a toggle switch that will plug into the factory harness and give you the ability to switch between race II and stock on a 13' TE449?

Also any leads on an ignition switch would be appreciated. I hate cobbled wiring, so if there is some plug n play stuff out there I would like to know about it.

Should be de catting my stock silencer tomorrow. Let the modding begin!

Thanks,

Joe

The ignition I used is from sic ass racing. It has been an excellent product. Easy install and no issues.
I used their turnsignal system and it has also been trouble free. I have not used a switch for map 2 and
Stock, as the stock map is dangerously lean to me. If you search here, it has been done, mostly for fuel
Economy, someone who has done it may chime in, or just search it.. The sicass ignition, and the turnsignals
Have the same connectors as stock, so they just plug right in...

I saw the sicass switch, however it is advertised for 2011-2012 models. I have a 2013 and am unsure of any wiring changes from 2012 to 2013.

The Tourtech switch looks like the cats meow for what I want to do. I use this bike for a short commute to work (5 miles) and for off road play which will include ice racing in the winter. Being able to switch between maps could be beneficial for me.

Thanks for the info!

Call sicass I don't think any difference in 2012/2013. I don't like cutting up the wiring either..
Has anyone used the touratech switch? I have the open exhaust map (map 3) no use for me.

Bought one a while back but haven't had a chance to fit it as yet. The cords just over a foot long, but it's designed to be mounted to the frame, hidden away but still accessible. Not that it matters as the bike needs to be off to change settings so there's no gain having it mounted to the 'bars.

Not cheap but reasonably well made, while touratech US doesn't stock it they can get one in under a week.
