• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

Before gas tank! Hated to take that paint job off!

Then after gas tank!

Ha! I'm going opposite way!

Nah! Got a tank to finish up then I'll custom paint this tank over several days, to go with the new concept.
Ok New Direction!

I could not bring myself to strip a fine job like that. Too much work to get it that nice for starters. But then you have too much time on your hands so I will let it go this time:) I hope you are healing well.

Yeah! Here is what head will look like on the bike.

This is just gold paint. Either send out to get anodized or I'll use a more permanent paint.

Healing A Ok! Just keeping things moving.

Ha! You will like the end result! Promise!

I would never question that as long as you do not strip the 82 430CR tank you did in our favorite deep maroon.

I agree! Robo leg has 3 more weeks of full leg brace. So limited to what I can do.....

But you will like the end result. Got some stencils being made up right now and should look sharp!

Plus! Wanna get some modern racing in about October and November.

Nailed a nice Aluminum Thor Swingarm. It will fit and look sharp.

Going to change some things around on it to fit, then for appearance and function.

Once I get welds done, I'll send it back out for heat treatment. Got company that says they will do one off for me. Not cheap but I'll trust the strength.

Bike is going to turn some heads for sure, when it's done.....

Here ya go guys!

That's 8 hours of artwork. Those are not decals. That is all stencil, airbrush, and masking work.

I'll swing back around and Trizact the clear and get more coats on so you don't feel any lines.

Since Moto x Fox never did a Husky and was focusing on the RM, YZ, CR and KX.

Thought I'd be the first one to do up a Factory Moto x Fox Swede.

Bike is going to be bad ass when I'm done.

You should see the tank actually on the bike! Sweet!

More awesome ideas, going into effect in future.

Hmmmm!

Got bunch of pics removed due to Photobucket.

Not only in this thread but tons of other builds over 9 years.

Not sure yet but might just delete all of them including this thread, as well.......

1, I'm not going back to add them.

2, I'm not paying their fees.

3, I'll take my pics out of photobucket and move them to a flash drive or something.

I would say: just do nothing (but go ahead an copy 'em to a flash drive if you don't have a local copy). PB may allow 3rd party hosting again, and you lose nothing by keeping them where they're at. don't pay, don't delete, don't do any work.

I can't remember the name of the free photo hosting site, but about 16 years ago they went under without a warning. and i did not have any local copies of my images. about 6 months later, whoever bought the assets of the defunct company sent out emails saying they would burn a CD of your images for you (told you it was a while ago) and send it to you... for a nominal fee of course ($35 IIRC, which I grudgingly paid. turned out to be worth it).

I always keep local copies now- free site, cloud, isp raid whatever. any images i post here are hosted on coffee's machine.

btw, lots of forums (most?) don't allow editing of a post after a short while (5min, 24hr, 7days etc). turns out i like the ability to go back and do stuff like add a image to a post, like you can do in cafe husky.

I have a feeling this is gonna backfire on photobucket.

Thanx guys!

One of Andy's covers that took down and polished up.

Removed the husky emblem and lettering.

You will see !
