• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I like what you're doing with the Maiqvarna...

Wow. You're on a roll. Looks like you've unbuttoned your trenchcoat today!
Around here, we just refer to our orange, white, red/white, blue/white, blue/yellows as Huskatoomaberg, what will all the inbreeding. SP has become our uncle-daddy.

Loving this thread. Great idea for a period piece. Beautiful bike, but a little busy for me. Here's my .02, just thinkin' out loud. Yellow was a really popular color in this era, and to this day nothing speaks 70's/80's MX quite like yellow. With this in mind...

I'd like to see a factory gold leg and rim, as I think Danny Magoo did on some of his Fox Maico's. It ties in nicely with the yellow of the tank.

OR...

I'd like to see the leg done exactly like the tank, red/yellow/red, with black lettered HUSQVARNA.

OR...

How about an all yellow leg with black HUSQVARNA lettering. Remember the very popular yellow fork skins?

With any of these I think I'd go back to the white fenders just to not over-do the color.

Of course... YOUR bike (bows head in submission).

Yeah, this one is tuffy.

I have painted that fork leg 4 times but not posted it. Just didn't click. Last one was completely orange with fox head.

What is another monkey wrench! That aluminum rear swingarm.

Here is other kicker????? Front plate and side plates (custom made special), might be white or I can even have done in red.

They are in the oven!

I've had these things about every color. Too bad there is not one out there to copy.
I had the ribs on clutch cover in yellow, red, orange etc... With silver background!
Blah blah yuck!
This looks the best in whole color scheme.

No that's KG. Tough as nails and carb cleaner won't remove it. Wears tough as nails.

Took that Maico for spin. She scoots! When you throw your leg over a Maico! You say, leggo my Maico!

I switch the carb out to 36mm and put a jetting kit in it. Need just lil more bottom out of the hole. So I'm going in to fix that later.
