• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

That Seel Replica is very fascinating!
What about posting some videos? Maybe an on board one?

Hey, I'm new here. Let's get things started on the right foot though...

Here's my new (to me) '12 SMR 511. Pretty much stock, but we'll be fixing that soon enough. I'll be prepping her for local kart track duties, as well putting together a light off-road switchover set for some casual trail/MX riding.

Just swapped from dirt to street after a DS Big Bear Run. Have not had the 42 on for a while, tracks got smaller. The 42 is staying on the SM wheels It RipsView attachment 33297View attachment 33298

nice looking bike.. how many miles/hours have you put on it before it require the engine to be checked/opened? How the TE's engine perform as SM? I am planning to make mine like yours, but I was warned to do it because at 100 hours the engine will blow, is it true?

Just got my smr511 and what an upgrade. Cant wait to mod it. Heres some pics, sorry for the shitty iphone 3 quality.

I had a klx250sf...my first street legal bike! Was fun, but man what a slow turd. I don't think I EVER took a turn on it. Just rode around town and commuted wide open on the freeway for a hour everyday in slow traffic.

It was a champ bouncing off the revlimiter (10500rpm) every day for 3000 miles. Then got a ninja 650r.

miss it dearly... 2007 SXV 5.5

I'll find out once I get my hands on them, and the guys at ER finally get me my axle and caliper!

Parts/Work undertaken;
'13 SXV 450 50mm marzocchi forks; Ohlins TTX22 cartridges (FGMA1295) and springs shortened to SMR511 length, SKF seals, DLC coated lower tubes, Extreme Riders fixed offset fork bottoms (20mm offset vs 35mm for OE), 108mm Beringer 4 pot radial caliper.

Just waiting on the axle and caliper from Extreme riders as the axle had to be custom made and is taking for ever!

-15mm offset will be interesting too, instead of the usual -3 or 4mm you get with triple clamps!
