• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Let's See your 'Tard!

So many that get away, hate that. Cant keep them all. 510? Those had great motors. Like what you did with the plastic and colors, cool bike.

Actually a 450. I loved the way it looked aside from the ugly fender, unique. Yet ugly :) It went a long time with no valve adjusts needed and 0 issues!

Shot from a trackday last weekend; last one for a while as there's massive slip from the engine under load :( either the slipper clutch has packed it in or the torque limiter has had it, the fun of pulling things apart to find out begins!

I still think that the damn torque limiter should get welded. It looks like a weak part, and on the road there Is no jumping wide open throttle smashing the gearbox. Unless they are super weak where a clutch wheelie would break something...

I may be over reacting, could be as little as the main nut on my slipper clutch has loosened, the clutch pack needs replacing (ordered one anyway), the pressure spring on the slipper has softened (have a spare 300N spring), or the torque limiter has failed. Annoying thing is they all exhibit the same symptoms!

More pictures. Do you get left in the dust when running with race prepped CRF450's or does the bike have enough grunt and handling to bump elbows lap for lap? (lets not talk rider yet just bike)

There's more pictures of my bike in it's varying states in the 4 strokes forum pic thread.

Plan to take new shots when my forks are finished.

Hey, it does say not husky specific somewhere...

'06 KTM 450 SMR - headache in maintenance, too wild for the street, a blast when it's running right and there aren't any cops in earshot (had to replace the M4 exhaust with the Leo Vince because of this). Not a lot of good riding for it around here, so it's been sitting for about 4 years, I really need to sell it.
