• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My wife has the licence to ride any big bike but she has never been really interested in 2 wheels... How is that possible when you live in a family like ours? ^^

I had decided to put my 510 up for sale since buying my 610 last month...then I discovered a few days ago that a bud had a set of oem wheels in his garage. Got 'em mounted up yesterday...waiting on caliper bracket and shorter chain to show up.

...nothin' fancy, to look at yet, just might leave and put a well placed Husqvarna decal on it....it was a 2 year assembly process from boxes of parts...bought the 2009 SMR450 rolling chassis first then found a '04 SMR 450 motor that needed complete rebuilt- got it for a case of Budweiser!...updated valve train, Wossner piston kit and one of the incredibly hard to find knife connecting rod kits. Running down parts and lots of painstaking time trying to decide whether to update engine with complete EFI System/Ignition utilizing stock harness or locating a Euro spec street legal harness from '04/'05....was able to locate a new harness, relocated the CDI under seat using zip-ties ,tapped into harness to install an aftermarket key switch and custom bracket mounted under tank to hide and ran a DRC rear tail light /turn signal combo to finish up wiring. Added a Trail Tech Endurance computer and billet holder for my gauges... And then there's the exhaust...wanted to run duals(still do) but had to research again what I could use to run the normal '04 exhaust that ran to right- NOPE ,clearance problems and no mount on sub frame...luckily because of close proximity to head pipes between both years I was able to find a very nice complete left side exhaust . I had a whole series of the build but laptop caught on fire and well you can guess the rest....It's my daily to work ride and lovin' it!..photos to follow
