• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

KTM/Husqvarna... now how will this play out?

Holy #$%&!!! Although I am not at all surprised that BMW might be trying to dump Husky, I am surprised that KTM is interested. They do seem to have the cash for such a move though, so maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

Ya know....some guy over at the local KTM dealership had mentioned something about this about a year ago when I mentioned that I liked the new WR300....so they have been kicking this around for a while.:excuseme:

Not sure what the new Husky 4T will look like, but I know it will be 510cc. ;)
I'm all for this, with KTM support, Husky has a chance at Baja and Dakar again without BMW choking them out by the balls.

ive had a bunch of KTMs awesome great bikes in their own right but dealing with CoPo and that freaking parts nightmare network they had? fughettaboutit.

So basically we are going to get to choose what color KTM we get? Lol

Husaberg is supposed to be what KTM will have a year later. So is husqvarna going to be last years KTM so they have a cheaper bike still? Guess we'll see.

I wonder what is going to happen with the BMW based bikes like terra and nuda

Should be interesting. I think it could be a good thing for Husky. KTM is committed to off-road - BMW is NOT. BMW has been wasting resourses developing bikes like the Nuda and stupid concept bikes like the Baja and Moab when they should have been further developing the off-road bikes (like the 250/300 update that has supposedly been coming "next year" for the past 5 years).

my only concern is them kickn the H to the crub to corner the market hostile takeover style.... other than that im on board with utopia.
They wouldn't do that, the Husqvarna name is bigger than Husaberg. Husaberg might be worried though...

I dont know, there is just something about the way they "feel" that dosent sit right with me, kind of hard to explain I guess KTM just doesn't fit me right.

Aren't Husaberg's now supplied with KTM engines? Seem's like they've already been getting a bit of a curb kicking
