• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HVA-Factory WR300 Extra Special!

No, sorry I don't. What I do have though is some new Adjustable piggyback shocks that Robin Packham at Falcon Shocks has just sent me****************************************

Think I will be working in the Garage tonight...P1000740.JPG

What lengths is Robin doing in those Andy ? A 15"3/4 would be good. Do you have prices yet ?

Robin will make anything you want lengthwise. These are 18 1/4'' for the 83/84 Enduro bikes...

Expect the price with tax to be a touch over the £800 mark for adjustable pairs.

Andy.

Let us know how they compare to the ITC's... get yourself a go pro.... great to watch those crashes again...

I am making a batch of Fork top nuts with pressure relief valves in them. Obviously - the 300's have them on****************************************

The ones shown are the prototypes made from modified Evo caps. (don't go there, as it is more work than you may think) The new made ones will be good for any bike from 82 - 88 conventional Husky forks....

Hope it goes well Andy, I'm keen to see and here some video footage of the 300's, I think my 250 needs more cubes!

OK, this is what you need for those who have contacted me regarding a 300 kit:

Expansion pipe. £300-00
Reconditioned Cylinder with Nikasil Alloy liner fitted. £600-00 (3 kits available only)
Piston Kit. £135-00
New VM38mm carb Jetted for the kit at 200 feet above sea level. £120-00
Cyl head rubber seals x 4 (to seal cyl studs from dirt ingress) £10-00
1 pair of crank cheeks to new stroke. £300-00
DHL shipping depending on location - £40 to £120...

Strictly first come first served, and only one kit per customer!

Sorry - I said it would not be a cheap job!

Andy.

Yes, the actual bike is in the museum in Sweden! I took the inspiration for the air cooled 300s from that...

Don't think I will go power valved though - well not this side of Christmas!

Andy.

The compromise will always be exhaust port height without a power valve! I have 300 MX cylinders that rev better, but I tend to use the 300 Enduro ported cylinder with the extra 2 transfers on the inlet and the extra 2 on the exhaust as per 84 l/c cylinders. The torque is better but the sacrifice is pure top end. In reality, no 30 year old bike will be as good as a new one - but I don't think I would go any better on a new bike and they have character that is sadly missing from new bikes!
Andy.
