• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

HVA-Factory WR300 Extra Special!

Also, we will be going to the East German Zchapau Enduro near the old MZ factory, plus of course the Auroux Enduro also in the South of France....

Michel, the bike and the owner are in France, his name is Yves, you probably know who he is. I do not know him, but on another message board I mentioned I wanted to go to ISNY and he offered the bike.

I've read too fast !
Yes , I know Yves Chemouny. Very meticulous with the bike I think.
He just bought a 84 400 wrlc in UK, to have a comfortable and easy bike.....:)

Someone asked for a Twin Leading Shoe - Rear Brake picture... You need to shorten a cam so it misses the SwingArm and turn down the outside. The Brake Arm is the key though. This one came from the Swedish P1000694.JPG Husky Factory R & D department....

The Forks are from the last of the Evo 1988 bikes. Cut off the Disc Brake mounts and Weld up. Then Machine back to look exactly like the 83 fork!P1000463.JPG

The insides look like this. There are some variations within the Evo fork, and I am working to make them even better. All the Damping is done at the bottom of the damper rod - that means they always damp even if they leak! Oil is 5w and I use a 220m/m air gap with the spring out and fork compressed.Fork section.JPG

SO CAN WE GET THE PARTS TO BUILD THE TLS REAR BRAKE FROM YOU SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS I'M GETIN OLD

Never had any problems locking up the rear wheel with the single leading rear brake. TLS rear brake might be cool, but thats about it.

And to think I am stuck in Georgia for a contract job until the end of June when I could be home building one of these

Making some brake arms is one of the tricky bits, we do have some brake plates and parts - but it would be cheaper to pick up a complete one off of ebay and mod it!

andy great pic of tls rear, what i like is how the axle nut is locked with the adjuster, keep up the good work pal.

Most of the 84 Huskys (certainly the Enduro ones) had the extra lug on the swing arm to prevent the wheel coming forward. We have 'tweeked' our version to hit a flat on the wheel nut - thus stopping it from loosening on its own. Works a treat and takes the strain off of the pull back tensioner bolt that are prone to breakage. We can supply all of these parts from stock...

Took the 300 out and ran in one of the Nikasil - alloy liners at the weekend. Oh it is good and the sound from the motor is different with the ally liner fitted...

Just got to do the prep for the Trefle Lorizien 3 day now!

Andy.
