Ok who was your favorite husky rider ?????

    well, to be honest... I didn't even know Steve rode Husky, and I had never heard of Malcom- until OAS came out in '71. By that time, I'd been on the Arne Kring bus for a while. I'd say the dirt bike craze peaked in '69 or '70... but it dropped like a rock by '75. Man, it was insane for a bout 5 years ('67-72 in my 15yo memory). EVERYBODY had a dirt bike.

    ...and AFAIK Steve didn't ride MX (or in AMA parlance "European Scrambles"; it seems they were trying their damnedest to discourage "us" from riding 'em, to me at least. Still pissed at 'em for that). Back in my day, if you didn't ride mx, you didn't ride shit- you were off my teenage radar.

    but belated props to him for financing OAS. And I dug "Bullitt". OTOH, I was, at the time- kinda shocked they burned a husky in the movie. My dad tried to convince me it was cheap for them to do it but still...
