Sometimes doctors aren't always right. My dad fell of a deck at a house and shattered his heel. The first doctor he saw wanted to amputate his foot! The next doctor repaired the heel and he only had a slight limp.
Glad for you and the good news! Look at the Rockgardn Flak Jacket if you haven't already invested in upper body protection. http://www.rockgardn.com/items/body-armor/flak-jacket-flak-jacket-detail.htm?1=1&menu=1 They really do work and cover all the pointy spots the whole day.
Great to see you are getting better, I know the feeling having crushed a couple vertabrae in the past. I just got a Tek Vest from tekrider.com. I got the RallyMax and I have to say it makes me feel a whole lot better protected. I love how low it goes on the back and how the sides are protected too. I am sure it does not make me invinceble but at least I am much better covered. Welcome back to riding.
I haven't posted here in a while but saw this right off the bat-so glad to hear you will ride again!! Congrats!
It has been a while, still have not been out to ride. I need to fix a fork seal and probably refresh all the fluids. I start and ride around the yard every couple weeks. Also I still need some good upper body protection. Is there anything new out there that I have missed as far as protection goes? I wanna get out sooooo bad and ride.
Best of luck, and never say never, even if you can not ride at the same level as before, think positive!! It would take me 10 minutes to describe all of my injuries thanks to dirt bikes! Exploded my shoulder on 04 on my brand new Husky 250 (had done 3 heat cycles, and then went for a putz. Tipped it over in a field going 2 mph while turning around!! Washed up and done for a year and a half! Hec B riders were passing me!! But it healed (90% was ACL) and I got my speed back ! Good luck, think positive, go streetbiking if you have to!
Just read through this and glad to see you're getting back on the bike. There are of course the armored jerseys out there, but I think they are only limited impact protection. EVS makes shoulder braces.
