  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR300 love thread.

Well Summer is in full swing with the last week well into the mid 40s degrees celsius everyday and have been into the water skiing but the year on the bike is about to start with first practice on the mx track and a ride in the bush a couple of weeks ago . I ended up scoring a new original Hub off Stefan at R&D husky and she is all Loctite and good to go , Bring on the cooler weather16265283_1257551854331790_6913563206852167135_n.jpg

That's one fine looking machine!

Hey all, anything i need to know about 2010 Husky WR300's? I think i'll be the owner of one tomorrow. I'm 15 and a first year light vehicle mechanic. I've been saving for ages a new bicycle, but did promise myself if a wr300 ever comes up i'll buy it. And as a bonus, i also get a 2006 wr250 in parts as well! How much? $2950! I'd love to hear about these bikes! Probably be a bit scary at first coming off of my 2013 CR125!

Ahh you'll be right melias only goes as fast as you twist the throttle! Sell me the 6 speed outta the wr250, they a 6 speed?

No shawry don't think the 250's were ever 6spd stock.

Awesome 15, and riding a 3hunny!!! Your gunna love it. My 360 is only too fast if you let it but it's nice to have that power in reserve .

I've got a 2010 and it's a great bike. A couple things to pay attention to are the shift fork (frequent neutral shifts, maybe jammed up gears totally), and well, that's about all I can think of... Watch out for that tree!

The good thing about being brought up on 2 strokes is that there is no surprises for you in the way the power is delivered on a bigger 2 stroke but be prepared for a bike that doesn't need as much clutch work as your old 125 , the bottom end power and the rest compared to the 125 is light and day different but not something you cant get your head around.
But as for the bike in general I have had mine for just under a year and yes it doesn't have the magic button and yes it doesn't have a hydraulic clutch but you know what ! it doesn't need them , just like the YZ 250 that has received minimal updates since 2005 this bike is also a competitive bike as is ,

Yes that is true!!

Yeah, i love my 125 but i just want more bottom to mid range power for slower trails!

Yeah i've read the shift lever is bit of an issue.

Yeah my mate has a YZ250 and it's a super nice bike.

I find woods riding just chicane round trees in second barely any revs then lug the beast out no clutch nuffink but a few raisesof your left foot.
shawbaggas 300 surprised me at how similar to 360 it is in riding style.

51 or 52T rear sprocket.
FMF pipe
Machine squish band flat, then re-cut it to 1 mm.
Keihin, or RB modded carb

Huge increase in low and midrange power, and linear powerband.

I tried the 300 experiment, and it's just way too much bike for me, and my riding style. Mine will be up for sale in the spring.

My 300 experiment continues as soon as I get mine back together. Saving pennies for fork job now  I'm pretty sure I'm faster through the woods on the 300, though the 165 is more fun, but remains to be proven. Getting the suspension and ergo's right on the 300 is major for me. Stock setup felt like climbing on a longhorn steer. With proper springs, sag and bars it doesn't feel as big and tall and carves thru and over most everything.
Replacing the stock carb changed the nature of the beast for me.
To me the 300 requires a different riding style than any other I've ridden, even yz250 woods racers.

I really want to try a 300. Of course I'm very happy with my250 but would love to add a 300 to the stable:banana:

I didn't end up buying it :( I took it for a test ride and it had a strange grinding/rattle in the engine, and the power was barely there.

I'll stick to my 125! I guess a 165 kit would be a good option? I also already have a 53t rear sprocket fitted.

144 isn't a bad option, either.

Mine is a 144, and I did everything on that list. Sprocket is 51T, and carb is RB modded TMXX. Power band is just like a 300 Xtrainer. Not as torquey, but it feels very linear, has excellent low end power, and still screams on top like a 125 should.
