  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR 250 built thread

Think the clearance issue was the air boot/ reed block rubbers set up for a longer carb.
Oh and giggles my itallian domino lever never killed a cable but the American Msr raptor did...
Crappy products ;)

something might have changed with the age of bike but the stock setup rubbed badly. have heard this complaint on both 250/360.
would be shocked if anything msr was still made in the states, sadly...likely chinese..

True but was sent from the states and has their name assosiated with it, their design sent to china for manufacture so imo its American.
An its probably my fault for installing it wrong or something. Lol

I own a couple of the HPIs Juicy and both power the lights horn ect but need a few revs to make the horn not sound liike a dying duck lol
As for starting I fired up a bike that has one fitted this morning that hasnt run for around a month and it started on the third kick.
Will say the spark from the HPI looks weak to the eye but is obviously up to the job or the bikes wouldnt start.

I did had some trouble kick starting my bike- weak spark... Thats why i messed around with the carbs in the First place.
But i remembered your post and i thought i ll give it a try... I found out the flywheel is not the right one...
So i swapped the existing flywheel for another one- baam! Starts First kick with ease using sneakers.
Willy from HPI told me not to use resistor spark plugs and a non resistor cap.

Is that bolt supposed to be there above the fly wheel? I thought it was supposed to be a vent line??

I bought a new seat cover- but a friend has got a black seat already for his blue/yellow husky- we ll do a swop when we meet next time.
I did a short test ride yesterday and i found out a Big problem: the engine has so much power - i ll get a flywheel weight made for that. Thats an MX engine right now! HPI is for what it name says really! Compared to a stock WR250 this one is so much more agressive- i will get in trouble with that.

Thats the way to go for my 360 then, you wouldnt be interested in original wr ignition set up with money your way for hpi would you ???

I was doing a First test ride today- about an hour or so, its been raining 5 days now- so everything was wet, very deep ground- Best weather for a proper test! First of all - i love this suspension- its been great, traction was good, even not beeing setup right. Will do some more work on the suspension to make it really perfect. The engine had enough power, still on break in but great torque and a very long 5th gear like an overdrive.

Lookin good mate are those forks all gold?!!

Hit up 7602 racing for a case saver n clutch cover with oil sight glass(if any left!). Makes checkin oil so simple. Maybe rad guards too?
Are you goin to run a bash plate?

I like the older style bodywork

Yes- upper and lower fork is gold, its an aftermarket Öhlins i borrowed from a Yamaha WR250F 2001/02, i m also using the front wheel hub and brake system- but i need to upgrade this.

I will build my very own bash plate- but at the moment i dont have my wig welder ready and i m ill...

Whaaat i got 03 wr250f yammy an its not got ohlins!?!
Wtf this is an outrage gunna start smashing things........................

So i need to get in on this action.
