  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR 250 built thread

Yes but was it easier than the std wr ducati ignition to catch?

I never count the very first igntion after a rebuild as it will take a bit of pulling the fuel mix through to the cylinder.

I never had the bike running before- its the First time i own a running WR250. One thing i noticed- dont wear sneakers when starting this engine... :-)

Yes, work boots at an absolute minimum, but moto boots are best for your arches. Congrats!

Not likely since the year he has would have had a kokusan and they started very easy.

Alright thanks for pointing that out, any one else with hpi or pvl confirm ease of starting?
No lights or small flywheel prefered.

I own a couple of the HPIs Juicy and both power the lights horn ect but need a few revs to make the horn not sound liike a dying duck lol
As for starting I fired up a bike that has one fitted this morning that hasnt run for around a month and it started on the third kick.
Will say the spark from the HPI looks weak to the eye but is obviously up to the job or the bikes wouldnt start.

Awesome thank you, is the flywheel smaller on hpi with lights? Does it spin up quicker always fancyed a CR360.

Sweet will be adding that to the wish list, that and another clutch cable, seem to eat venhill cables like no ones business,
Msr raptor clutch and the actuator adjusted so its under 90 from the case... Still freys by the lever, anyone work that out?

Mine frays too and can't see why. WTF? Terminator cable, Moose EZ3 perch/lever and a Rekluse. I blamed the Moose perch, swapped it out and stock was worse. Was thinking since basically no slack in the cable with Rekluse that was causing it

I dont run rekluse, got away with cable repair but wont do again.
Filed the corner in the lever where the cable runs, fingers crossed that helps.

Looking for some 360 cases so i can make a hydro ktm clutch mod.

Today i was trying to get the carb dialed in- i thought it might be a good idea to start with a newer carb.
When i tried to fit the keihin i run into a clerance issu. Either the PWK nor the TMXX will fit... there must be another inlet manifold to make these carbs fit?IMG_20160215_202141.jpg IMG_20160215_202107.jpg

You could make a spacer plate for the reed block, but it does appear to be a long way short.
Im not aware of another block being available but that doesnt mean they dont exsist.

just for giggles...the lectron bowl clears the cases easily with the carb vertical

i havent had the problems with cables fraying..i do run motion pro terminators as well..i run a small amount of waterproof grease on the first part of the cable and the cylinder to avoid friction....the difference i guess is i use the old magura "power levers" on my stuff..not sure if that avoids the fraying?? but i dont think its the motion pros fault..
