  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc WR 250 built thread

Is it better or worse than riding in germany?

Its easier and better in the uk- people love motorsports! You ve got a MX shop on every other corner (compared to how its like in germany) and you ve got loads of practice tracks- i loved it.

But i live in a good area for doing enduro and MX right now- so nothing to complain really.

I have basically a stock 04 CR 125. The fit between my side panels and radiator/tank plastics (which are factory originals) fit the same. I looked into this and what I found was many bikes in this era fit the same way. considered getting aftermarket plastics like my fenders, but decided to stay original. Again, I don't think this in uncommon, but strange it is.

Interesting read. Im still hanging out to find 95 plastics for my 360, but its good to know this can be done. Ive got a spare subframe, plastics and longrange tank from an 06, but the old plastics look so much more badass!

I did run into a small problem today... The swingarm bolt didnt want to come loose... So i had to hammer it out...IMG_20151013_202644.jpg

I had the SAME problem when taking mine out! I hammered for a solid 10 mins straight! That baby is defiantly getting lubed up when she goes back together.

Hamnering it out is a std technique ive seen people struggle for days trying presses pullers threaded bolts inside the bolt to tighten it out. Lol
A few threads here about swinging bolt issues too.
Grease thay up.

I bought a set of flywheel puller which arrived tonight- so i went to test it straight away...
As you can see 1 bolt from the stator came loose and jammed everything up. Looks like i need a new rotor.IMG_20151015_193049.jpg IMG_20151015_193553.jpg
I have to dissasamble the bottom end now because of Bad Main bearings- i will put the 6 speed gearbox of the 93 WR250 in it at the same time.
The swingarm Bolt might be modified with a grease nipple for proper lubrication soon.

Your rotor may be usable, clean it up and follow the gouge looking for hairline cracks, the tinplat just keeps the debris off the magnets.

Make sure nothing proteudes and try it. You never know.
Oh and loc tight those screws in.
