• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

3 Pro Circuit Ported 300 jugs with heads and 2 250 cylinders that had light seizures and just need a replate. No power valves, but hey, where are you gonna find this much Italian goodness? The PC 300 top ends will make you one of the few that have even seen one.

Call the shop and ask for Ty to get yours!

I don't know anything bout these PC jugs, are they ported for top-end ?

Any clue about prix ?

Cheers

Not sure on prices, he dug these out last after I told him that it seems that Italian jugs are getting hard to find.

OK. $450 for the Pro Circuit 300 top ends with heads. 250 prices TBD as Ty thinks he might fix them before he sells them so they're good to go.

Call (760) 244-7028 and get yours before they are gone.

For the WR300.......

What changes are made to the power? Are they for more top end, mid range, or bottom? Heads modified? Does the power valve need modification to work with the porting changes?

Heath

The PC porting gives them more of a snappy MX type power curve. Not sure if the heads are modded. I'll ask Ty this week.

I'd love more power from the WR300 (who doesn't like more power), but I used the bottom end much more than the top end. Tight single track with rocks, roots, ruts, and climbs. May not be what I need for the tight eastern US stuff.

Still looking at ZipTy for my suspension. I just don't know when I want the bike down for weeks to have it done. Ty has a reputation for doing some magic on these husky suspenders.

Thanks, for the heads up though.

Heath

I'll be over at ZipTy tomorrow as I've got a set of forks there. He can tell me a little more about what they were tuned for. I don't think it took away too much bottom end, just allowed them to rev better.

Has he done suspension work for you before? I know the terrain is certainly different on the western side of the rockies, and I need a spring change for sure (front and rear), but the valving/damping I need is for the eastern stuff. Just wanna be happy with the suspension when it's done.

Heath

Yes, he's done both of my bikes. You just tell him your weight, skill level, type of riding/terrain you ride, and he'll get it done for a great price. Ty has done every type of riding all over the world, so he can nail pretty much everything.

I knew he's been all over riding and racing. Just didn't know if he specialized in Western setups. Thanks for the input.

Any news on the power changes with the PC ported cylinders?

Yes. The 300 top ends are indeed ported for MX power and the heads have been milled for higher compression. You need to run race gas to get the best out of them and prevent issues.

Forgot to update this thread re: the 250 top ends. If you are interested in one, call and ask for Ty. He will be happy to send it in to get it re-plated for anyone who seriously wants one. To be honest these are not that bad. The seizures are quite minor and they have hardly any time on them at all. In other words, it will be like getting a new top end.

Does he happen to have a 300 with power valve? The 250 and 300 power valve have different part numbers on two of the moving parts. I think it's the main and side valves. There are none in distribution. Also, are there any of either the 250 or 300s that aren't ported? I'm not interested at all in top end. And I'm definitely in the market for a cylinder and head.

The 250 jugs are not ported. I think you'd be better to stay 250. These have very minor seizures and very low hours. I will contact Ty in the morning and see what he can get the re-plate and cylinder to you for.

Call the shop and ask if they have them. Not there too often as I just help out with Cafe stuff.
