  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What did you do to your Husky today?

Kenda Equilibrium rear tire,Very big/wide compared to the Pirelli,Michelin trials and soft! just mounted it yesterday and will try it out Friday.

Update:
After a few rides I would say this tire is a winner.
-Has better traction and stopping then the pirelli mt-43
-About the same traction as a michelin M-11 but better stopping.
Not sure how long it will last but for $80 with free shipping from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
It going to be hard to beat.

Trying to figure out why my bolt speed sensor, slightly " brushed " the disc and now my Vapour LCD is reading 40% slow ****************************************!!

Swing arm bearings on my 09 165, woo. Bike has 315 (known) hours and I never touched them once during that time, so I'm assuming the original owner greased them up pretty good. Actually only the chain side was trashed, the brake side still had grease and was in reasonable shape.

Also the pivot bolt slid right out. Again, thank you original owner.

The last thing I did with my 300 (a couple of days ago) was to get into a head-on collision with some Ricky Racer on a KDX. Nothing happened to the guy or his bike, but the 300 and I both got painful boo-boos!

Had puncture on rear tyre and bought new tube for it.Now that the rear is all exposed,I may spray the frame black as I hate the OEM grey primer colour!

Damn KDX riders! That's the worst part of riding in the busy season. Gotta try to have one eye on the trail and the other looking ahead for signs of oncoming traffic. Glad it wasn't worse.

Actually the busy part of riding season is over in the high desert. Ironically, only I and his group of three were out there. The odds of us meeting were astronomically slim, yet we did. He even apologized, saying that he didn't think that anybody else was out there. He was about a full minute ahead of his two buddies, and popped up in what I would consider a safe stretch of trail with good visibility....but not for the speed he was hauling ass at. We never even had a chance of missing one another, but we would have if he hadn't been trying to impress his friends with his Ricky Racer speed show.

300-Fitted near new Pirelli mx extra x 120/100-18, replaced a dozen or so rear spokes(cheaped out n replaced em myself one at a time-pretty easy n wheel still straight so winning!), new rfx shifter & siliconed up a coupla tears in seat cover. C if it lasts! Replacing spokes was piece of piss really n another job ticked off. C if they loosen up any after tomoro. Went through n nipped up every spoke(every 3rd spoke lightly tightened movin round the wheel)

Waitin on new rad cap, crush washer for pipe(gotta replace orings too as bit of spooge cumin out) n dish type washer for chain slider as I lost one due to not reading instructions from TM designworks!:)

Bn pissin down with rain past week n Ridin in the sandy pine trails tomoro so should be primo!

First ride out I binned the bike spectacularly, pancaked the gnarly ..... well annoyed. Still the blue hue looks like she means business

I'm looking at the huge aluminium ones that armour the entire thing.
Force make one in Oz, but that's too much weight for you I bet.
