  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st What did you do to your Husky today?

Replaced the rear master, rebuilt the front master, replaced front and rear wheeling bearings, bleed the brakes and then had a few nurofen with a few stubbies (beers) to ease the broken rib pains.

Towing out the only 4 stroke in the group on Sunday. Buddy misjudged his fuel consumption and we didn't have an easy way to transfer fuel. He was only about 5 miles short and 3/4 of it was downhill at least.

I did put a Brand new cylinder on my bike today. Found a Brand new Barrel for a good price- so the old one can be modified for 165ccIMG_20151104_181820.jpg IMG_20151106_194337.jpg

I went for a ride @ St. Joe ORV park. Perfect day, 72 degrees, park almost empty, trails were dry for the first time in months.

Loaded up and leaving for the park.

Empty parking lot.

The park has a decent amount of varied terrain, this part of the park almost looks like SoCal high desert with long sand washes, whoop sections, rocks and yuccas.

Lots of single track through the trees.

The AMA holds a National Enduro in the park, last year it was won by Charlie Mullins, this year it will be run on 5/17.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures of the park. If any of you are ever in SE Missouri looking for a place to ride PM me, I know most of the park as I ride it regularly.
Somehow, huskys and toyotas just go together like tities and beer****************************************

That bike is perfect- although I like the stock front fender. Your kind post have been an encouraging way for me to spend money my wife thinks we should not.

I went to the machine shop to pick up some cylinders... 1 was there for a bigbore job ;-)

Finally mounted a new FMF pipe for my 300 today:rolleyes:... The old stocker was sharing real estate with my left radiator and I knew one more "fall off" and I'd be in trouble. Also, I found a Tusk brake lever tip that I was able to mount on my broken (thanks, rock in Baja) rear brake lever. Figured at $20 it was 1/4 the price of a new lever and the tip folds.. Did I mention its cool blue:D

Besides my silencer woes, I got the 300 inside for servicing during some sub freezing weather. Linkage bearings all good except that dam lower shock mount. Gonna' find some rubber washers to seal it up, new bearing in the mail. Also fresh clutch fibers and rod adjustment, looking forward to testing this afternoon. 100 hours on it and the Rekluse EXP 2, 3 of the fibers were at minimum spec, 2 were still ok, some very minor discoloration on a couple of the steels and no other signs of wear  Was going to do rings, but ran out of time. Today is the only warm afternoon forecast until next weekend, so gonna' ride instead of wrench
