• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Unstable at 75 mph

Well I took my wheels off and went to my mates to get them balanced.
The rear was spot on so no weights needed, however the front needed about 45g and we noticed a bit of a bend in the rim.
Shall be on the look out for a replacement soon.

Haven't been able to test the bike yet as its up on a stand and need my Brother to come help lift it.
Shall see how that goes and then I need to look at setting up the suspension sag.

My wobble was coming from the Bars rather than the rear through the seat.
Is there info on what to do for Front Susp setup ? or is it the rear that would need the adjustment more than anything.

Thanks
Gav

Yeah that's pretty much what I figured when we noticed it.
Are rims expensive to get and is it hard to lace them up etc ?

They aren't hard to lace up once you get the hang of it. I would Google how to, if you haven't done it. Are you sure the wheel is bent or just needs truing? A good bike shop should have someone that can straighten wheels if they aren't too bad.
Another thing to check is the wheel offset.. I like to lace my wheels so they are centered in the forks/swingarm. As tempermental as the 630s are it could make a difference.

Well its the edge of one lip it comes out about 1/2 a cm so it has a bit of a bend in it.
Could probably bend it back but then I'm not sure if the rim has egged, I'll ask Huskysport how much a rim is and look at lacing it myself and then get someone to adjust it.

My sm 610 doesn't wobble, but it seems to float a bit at highway speeds. (My front end is lowered about an inch too) The forks are longer than a street bike and a fork brace added somewhere above the front tire will cure this. My Street Triple is very stable, but going to the 610 after being on the Triumph takes a big adjustment. I definately don't like going over 65 on the Husky!

after setting the sag, went for a decent ride{670ks in a day} the bike is now near perfect, & thankfully i had a seat concepts foam & cover
