• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Unadilla.. Vintage Rewind May 30 - June 1

Favorite event of the year. Hope to see and meet all the Cafe folks again. This Cafe Husky group is still talked about so much down here in Texas as
I had all you guys coming over the help with my bike and just plain talk about Huskies. They said who are these guys ? and their Huskies.
Why are they helping so much? Hey - they are now starting to buy their own Husky bikes.

See you all at the race.

Gary

Unadilla and Ormstown. Two favorite Vintage events of the year.
Don't forget to bring an old Trials bike with you, as there will be an ahrma Trials this year, with a special non points class for Post 79 air-cooled trials bikes with drum brakes and twin shocks.

I will be there, racing my 81WR 430 in the GP500 inter. class on Sunday, with my 80 AMX as my back up bike.
# 914.. stop by !

Ok, i'll be the 1st to post after the event, being i started the thread.

Weather was awesome, more Vintage bike then i've seen in years there, much more then last years.

The regular ? Cafe Husky crew was in attendance , Frank , Me, Gary , & Joe, here's a group pic

Also ran into Norman, Taylor, Jim, Terry, and of course a bunch of old friends .

Although there weren't as many Legend in attendance this year , a $5 Pork Loin dinner & chowing down with Gary, Joe, Jim, Frank, Randy & his wife
with them, couldn't be beat  .

more photo's next

Husky John

Yeap that's Joe, in the Cross Country on Friday & he raced 6 motos on Sunday  on his 125 . Took him a little while to get some speed on the MX track, but he was going much faster by the end then when he started. I know he doesn't like waiting around for too long, & as he says i'm no moto guy, so i guess he treated it like long checks at a GNCC.

I took some moto pic's, but my daughter became the official Cafe Husky photographer for this weekend, which i'll try post her's asap.

Here's some : Frank in staging (#602 83 250CR)

if anybody know's who #929 on a Husky was, let me know.

Every thing was going well, we all went for you practices, but as it seems at Unadilla , Gary was to have some bad luck. He twisted his leg in a rut on his last lap of his 1st moto, soldier on & finished but then realized he was hurt worst then he thought, when he finally stop back at the truck.

He's day was done, ice on the knee & he'd sit for the rest of the day :banghead: . I promised i wouldn't take any pictures of him with his pants down as we iced him down.
so here's a later day family version. Joining us in this shot was Mike from VA, his wife, took this one, and was so impressed with how nice everyone at the races was.

After my clutch went on my 430 right after practice, i was going to race my 510 in the 4 moto's i was signed up, but instead, Gary nicely
offer me the use of his Mint 430. Gary put alot, into this bike after his tranny went last year here before practice and it shows.

Here's a few pictures of me on his jem, & it ran as well as it looked.

As a matter of fact Gary got the longest distance traveled mention by the tower, as he trekked
all the way from Texas.

Got a text reply from Gary, his injuries where worst then we thought, he broke (cracked) his leg.

He was flying back to Texas, if I hear more ....

Sorry to hear the news about Gary.I was talking to him on saturday and he was stoked to be back and his Husky ready to go.Hope all goes well for him.
