As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

If we can get it to Bend and then our friends from La Pine pick it up there, we'll probably be doing a ride at Shasta-Chappie. It's a few minutes from I-5, too, but it's in far NorCal.
Everything is up in the air right now...

WoodsChick;127728 said:Yep! Just got your PMs! I've been gone most of the afternoon. I think we're going to just blast up there this weekend and pick the bike up. It will be nice to meet Bill personally (and you if you're planning on being at the shop sometime Saturday) plus the ride at Chappie wasn't looking like it was going to happen. Thanks so much, though...that was incredibly cool of you to help a total stranger
We're still trying to plan a ride to Chappie with Cindi and Robert before it gets buried in snow so maybe you can get in on that and ride with us?
Thanks again, and hope to meet you on Saturday, too!

Xcuvator;127890 said:I was wondering about that too. Bills shipping rates are very reasonable.
dartyppyt;127892 said:Woodschick,
Get an extra set of the side panels that say: WR 300 on them. Switch them out with the 250 ones. Everyone that rides it will think it's a 300. Cheap conversion! Would be fun just to count the number of people who would ride it/ comment about it being a 300?
Congrats on the bike! You'll love it!

Rumor has it he has a corner of his shop called Cafe Husky.
(presumably near the coffee pot)
And maybe pick up some 125 stickers for that wr250 just to add a variety into the mix.![]()
Actually DUCKS is correct. Oregon will be in full football frenzy on Saturday. Good luck finding someplace that will tune a TV to something other than the Ducks-USC game. Fortunately for travelers the game is at USC; when the games are in Eugene I-5 turns into a parking lot between Salem and Eugene.Coffee;127942 said:There is a game on Saturday?
(ducks for cover...)
WoodsChick;127941 said:Ooh! Good idea! Everyone knows I've got a 125 with a 144 kit in it. Maybe I can ride the 250 instead with the 125 stickers on it and then everyone will think I'm fast
I'll take photos and I'm sure I'll have a good time. Eric promised me we'd make it to a sports bar in time for the game Saturday so I'm good to go

I assume y'all think that baseball series involving the SF Giants is something important though![]()

PC.;128081 said:Wish I wasn't all smashed up or I'd offer to take you guys riding.
Its a damn shame to drive to NW Oregon and not ride some trails. I cant guide you, but if you're interested I'm sure I can wrestle up some guides for the weekend. The annual 24hr race is happening this weekend, but I know a few guys not going.
I also know a few guys doing some insane hill climbing in Canyonville, OR if you're interested. You'll drive right through it.....
WoodsChick;128077 said:Well, I can certainly understand how Oregon would get pretty excited over a college football game. I mean, Oregon only has one professional sports team (Portland Trailblazers) so they gotta get that sporty hometown pride thing going any way they canHere in CA it isn't such a big deal, I guess, because we have 15 professional sports teams to choose from (5 MLB, 3 NFL, 4 NBA and 3 NHL) so those little college sports tend to just fade into the background
Anyway, thanks for the heads-up about the sportsbars. I don't foresee us making it across the state line before 4pm so I'll just have to call around to a few in Ashland/Medford/GP and see what they say.
