  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Turning a WR250 into a WR300?

I am a little late with my report, but I have proof that WoodsChick and Eric did return to Salem to pick up the 250. I managed to catch up with them around 11 am and WC and I discussed riding in the ancient days and options for the trip south (I though that pulling into an RV park and hooking up cable wasnt a bad idea .... but that pool and hot tub looks even better).

Great to meet you both and glad you turned the return adventure into something pleasant (except for the result of the game that is).

Your busted! The van was parked with the bike on the back so you could look at it from your hotel room!

Yes, I will admit looking at my bikes all the time bringing them home new.

You should have grabbed some of those colored straws by his counter/computer screen? There is nothing better than using color gas cap vent/ carb vent hoses for your 7-11 slurpy's. Have to be red hoses though! Slurpy has to be cherry, so your tongue turns red to match your Husky!

Congrats on your bike, nice choice!

Woodschick,

Thanks for the trip log. Well done as always. That new Husky is too sweet to get dirty. Brings back so many good memories of mine. Let me guess, I am going to get a big box with a condolences card inside.

Go Giants

Oh yeah! The bed/TV/pizza/pool/hot tub was a total hit  I didn't even care about the loss, really. I never figured on a sweep, so it was nice to get it out of the way so the Giants could beat Lee again:p

We had a great time hanging out with you and Bill, it's just too bad we couldn't have grabbed lunch or something...that would have been fun!
Let me know when you're in the Central Valley next and me and DirtDame will show you some really good stuff!

 It's funny you mention all that red stuff. I have a lot more red in my closet and everywhere else since I got my first Husky a few years ago:D We thought about locking the bike to the post/downspout but elected to just lock it to the bumper instead. Besides, it takes a lot of different tools to get that bike off the hitch hauler. We couldn't see the bike out the window, but we could see this urban camper serenading us with a sweet and soulful violin...

 We talked about that big box with your name on it  Something about needing another little motor like needing another hole in the head or something like that :busted:
I wanted to get a photo of the address label X'd out with my address on it instead but it didn't have a label yet, darn it! It was cool seeing the motor sitting up there like a 1st place trophy on a podium :)

Great report Woodsie. Hows the garage looking these days.

The garage is looking a little, um...how shall I say this...well, I'll just get a photo in a little while and post it...:busted:

The garage doesn't look too bad right about now, even though there are 6 bikes jammed into the back and 4 bikes in the front near the door.
Eric's LC4 is hard to see since it's taken apart. You can see the swingarm and rear tire, though, directly in front of my KTM's front tire. Once that behemoth is put back together we're going to have to start thinking about finding a little more room in there...

I'm starting to look like a hoarder...

Well I do have another hole in my head. I was quoted as saying I would rather drill a hole in my head than watch any more political back biting. Unfortunately I was forced to follow through but now I have more room for little motors. :D

That's not hoarding, its intelligent use of all available space for the necessities in life.

Holy schmit!!!

I know. I'm beginning to think I might have a problem. The first step to overcoming it is to admit it so here goes: I admit that my garage is too small.

There...I feel better already :D

I do have a covered patio, though. That's where my GSXR and SV live:)

Thank you, Walt, for shining your light of reason on my garage. Great minds think alike :)

I am so glad the elections are over! I might even be able to answer my phone now, or maybe get an honest-to-goodness piece of mail addressed to me instead of just dumping the contents of my mailbox directly into the recycling bin.

Nice looking garage WC.

I wonder if it wouldn't be helpful to start a garage photo sticky.
A place to refer naysayers or anyone critical of one's own garage?
