• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tractor Hare Scrambles 2013 Version!

Husqvarna
Pro Class
23FEB2013 1100 hrs start. see their face book page Tractor Racing

"will be a lot of fun and rock & Roll concert at the end in Santa Veronica Hotel, will be publish this weekend with 30% discount at the hotel mention this event"

They (The Tractor Racing Club) are back in the race planning-executing game!
Details to follow, a tough closed course HS/XC race in rocky hills near Rancho Santa Veronica Tecate BC Mexico. A very worthwhile event to put your SW racing calendar. This will be a mostly tight technical rocky (Eastern) Style event. This is the kind of race Huskys are designed for, Cory G won the last one of these HS events on his TXC449. I'll be on one of 2 machines TE310 or TXC310R......RN

their website is not updated and still has the Tecate GP up on it.

Tractor HS 2011 Highlights (a little too fast on the editing for my taste) for a quick look of the course

Cory G won this event. Hope some local Cafe crew join the fun!!
My highlight was a great 46+ masters open start and catching the previous row starters of the senior class (including the Welsh Freight train) quickly before 1/2 of the loop and fastest class L1 lap time......
Lowlight was -me fading fast and on survival mode to the finish, ended up off podium got passed by a bunch of the 46+ class guys . went to Dr after found severe prostate (just wait you young bucks!!) and lung infection with high white count, it sucked but was good after some meds. friggan illness ruined a perfectly good start and first lap brilliance.
Highlight also Got to see both Cory G and Ivan R just fly past in some tight rocky stuff from the seat of my TXC450.
Cant wait for the 2013 version....I gotta go up against a new member of the 46+ class my friend/crew member and Tecate HS nemesis (he beat me straight up in 2011) the KTM Welsh Freightrain-

Signed today 46+ open/masters, the old guy class.
just hope we dont catch the line in front in the tight stuff.

Its coming up fast one more long weekend of practice. then its off to the RSV zona for some real trail riding fun.
23FEB!!!
My quotes/report from the 2010 version
"This was the best course under the best conditions I think I have ever ridden. Very challenging but not stupid hard
It was a brilliant event well prepped, organized and it came off very well, with immediate results, great infield enduro cross spectator section. The chase riders even did course maintenance during the race, ie threw up more ribbon in missed turn zones, and did 40 ft reroute around an endless mud deep stream bed as the race went on. alot of it was under tree canopy, lots of the usual steep rocky up and downs, wet running stream beds, some sandy stuff, BLACK Loamy dirt!! green grass meadows and usual reddish tan baseball rocky stuff we have around here but ZERO(99% no dust) dust. There were 2 pit lanes seperated by course sections,,,well I can go on and on. It was 9.9 of 10 for sure. There were course monitors and checks throughout the course but no stop or slow down checks, man just a perfect set up for 10 mile loop trail ride/race. Thank you Tractor Racing!!! You guy rock!! And they even issued nice (3 each), 3 digit one piece Monster energy number stickers at sign up. @80% fresh single track!! RN"
PS the forecast calls for rain this coming week....

hope yer feelin sharp n focused man. high white count's tough, ugh! crack that whip and make em bleed baaarrrooop!

46+ open class all ready includes some fast experts and maybe even a former pro, I am going for a clean finish first, and if podium happens that will be great. forecast says some rain mid week next week before the race yee haa!!

That looks like the most fun race I've seen on video yet. The endurocross section and water section look like tons of fun!

PS first race on the 2013 TXC310R, been prepping like a mad dog this week. even after initial prep i still need to do more stuff, ie; EE rad guards, breather mod,

bike now has 11 black rims, 6.4 race tech rear spring, ch racing skid plate , red acerbis hand guards and some other bling.

hear ya hate that laying in bed thinkn i got it all done and oh snap forgot to do this and this back out to the shop in jammies. new bikes are fun but the first few rides are kinda wonky finding the set up then it settles in and its an old shoe marooop!

If you keep going down to Tecate they're gonna have to give you your Mexican card. I got mine when I married mi Esposita! They call me, "Guerrito".

I have drill Saturday then headed to Ocotillo Sunday for KoD.

yea new bike stuff... the new thing is so rippable carvable that I was dragging pegs in our local training zone. and i was acting and over acting the fool on the new bike, its good to exagerate a bit and get to the outside of the skill envelope while practicing. well a first for me, right hander bike way leaned over hit a stump with my brake pedal and broke off the brake stop, busted the screw right off at the frame. I am ordering the ZipTy series 2 brake stop today and may just leave the screw shank in and paint over it.

http://www.ziptyracing.com/brake-stop-husqvarna-2nd-addition/

you can see where the oem location is for the concentric brake stop, mine is now filled flush with a screw shank.
PS I had a helmet cam on and will see if its worth viewing (I have not worn one for a long time), plus I know I was in non-smooth clown/exagerated mode....
