• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I was wondering how the "wings" option was coming along? I know once you have a prototype completed you will post pics...but I was just interested in how it was going to turn out.

Also (and more importantly to me), is there any way possible to special order a skid plate assy (and the future wing add on) done in the red anodize like your bar risers!?!? I guess I could just get a raw al set and powder coat them...but the red ano you use looks pretty sweet and will perfectly match the other stuff I will be ordering from you here shortly.

We are admittedly backed up right now. Building stabilizers at this time and then will get back on the wings shortly. I guess probably a month out. Can do a special order red. We are pretty much out of the skid plates and building more of those as well. the holidays are rough for getting stuff done with everyone out.

Totally understand Kelly! I'm about that far out from purchasing the bike anyways. I will hit you up again when I get it...but in the mean time, please email me (sending you a pm with email info) a guestimate on the cost of everything (including whatever upcharges for special color option) so I know how much $$ to set aside for you. Thank you!

These next plates should be done end of next week for those needing one. I have a list of names for the back order so let me know if you want one ASAP so you get one from this batch. These are to expensive and time consuming to build in large quantity so we are building them in smaller batches than usual. Just a heads up.

Hey Kelly,

It's Ed; I've been talking to you back and forth on email about getting one of these plates; I missed out on that last one you thought you still had. Just want to make sure I get on your list for this upcoming batch, since I'd like to get it on the bike before I go on the BMW offroad academy in February. Non-anodized would be fine. I can paypal as soon as you've got one built. Thanks in advance.

Ed, you are for sure on the list. They are done with the CNC part, getting welded now and then off to ano. Hope to ship next week.

Are you doing black & red? Seems like I remember reading somewhere there was someone asking about a red plate.
 
wow - well if they're all going to anodizing anyway, I wouldn't be against having a red or black one! honestly i'll take one in any color at this point hehe!

The latest batch is going to be done and shipping friday. We are working on add on wings and hope 2 weeks. Will be really cool and inexpensive to add on if you like. I have send Emails to everyone on the list. They are almost sold out again so if you want one please contact me now.

Note: I'm sure I got everyone but if you were on the list and did not get an Email from me this morning please let me know.
