• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I think they look cool but much perfer the skid plate to hide in black / match the bike and motor. I guess I am finally old :>) I did two because one customer asked for one and one hinted. Figured someone would buy one. They are cool looking.

Yeah...I tend to be a freak when it comes to details, and my favorite color....RED! Not that I would do EVERYTHING in red, but hints of it here and there really makes it stand out.

The skid look drop dead sexy Kelly, thank you very much for doing a special run for me!

Kev.

Hey Kelly,
Have you posted any pics of your plate with wings yet?

Edit: will you be making any with welded wings?

Keep in mind that red ano is the worst when it comes to fading do to uv exposure. Fading is dependent on quality and process of coatings so some last a loooooong time and some dont.

There are products out there to reduce (and sometimes reverse) this....a good one is called Everbright. I ordered a small can and will be applying it this weekend.

But it looks so good!!! A little fade never hurt on one... I'm sure it will get all scratched up as well, from rocks and stuff hitting it underside... Anodize is only a surface treatment...

Anodizing in California fades the worst because the dye is organic now. The parts still remain anodized, but the red dye fades. The treatment is only a surface skin which inhibits oxidation and produces a harder skin.
