  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This just in- BDSB?

Has anyone heard of Best Dual Sport Bikes? It sounds like they have done a fair bit of work to understand these husky's but curious as to why this article is the first time I have heard there name brought up.:excuseme:

I just ordered the injector kit for my 310 I have read a couple of favorable reviews so I figured I would give it a shot. The claim is it runs as strong as a 350 KTM, I guess I will find out next week! After talking to them, it sounds like it runs like a different bike with the mod I don't doubt it mine runs terribly lean. On a related note, I have been having problems with my bike stalling and generally running poorly. When I first got it I turned up the air screw so the idle was up around 2K, I turned it down to around 1600 and the bike is running better all around, less stalling seems to be starting better, and it seems to have a little better snap. I dunno why but it definitely runs better! It definitely reduced the engine breaking and the bike seems to flow better at the track for me. But coming off of a 2-stroke the increased engine breaking was really apparent to me.

Riiiight? Exactly what I was thinking!

Ok, just installed the injector from bestdualsportbikes.com on the 310, seat of the pants up and down the block, doesn't even feel like the same bike. Power wheelies in the first 3 gears, feels a lot more like my 450 power wise, I am going to go to the track tonight and confirm but I think this injector might have finally cured my problems with this bike, except the starter but I can live with that! Before this if I cracked the throttle in first I got a bawww, now it rips! Ye-haaaa!

Well this is awesome! Let us know how it goes************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************!11

What year is your 310 and if you don't mind us asking what did everything cost?
I have a 2012 TE 310, I got a chance to ride it yesterday, it has much more power, but I didn't get a chance to play with it much as I high sided it coming out of a long sweeper, and bent myself, and the bike up a bit. I left the plug in where the the O2 sensor plugs in so I could test the two ignition maps, BDSB didn't do that they simply unplugged the O2 sensor, so I want to try it in that configuration as well. The bike does run much better I got one good lap in before I hit the dirt. It definitely runs much better, more power, torque, and I didn't stall it once. I will report again when I get some more time on it. I want to pick up an I Beat program too, so I can set the TPS and play with it a bit. The cost was $150.00 for the injector.

One good buddy has a 2012 KTM 350 with JD tuner and another buddy has a 2011 TE310 with the JD tuner. I have ridden them back to back and the 310 feels as strong. There is not a huge difference in power but some of this may be due tot he much shorter (tighter) gearing on the 310. I good running 310 is nothing to laugh about, formidable power.

All the injector info is here at CH already. They have not really done anything the fine people here have already sorted out.

Anyone happen to know what it is without making us sort through pages and pages of info? Is it the same as a Kawi one?

I am pretty sure its the Kwacka 12 hole injector.
My question is does it work on 09's and 10's?

I have one, but it has been altered so the part numbers are not readable. I have been doing some experimenting with it, so far it runs the best with simply unplugging the O2 sensor, but the problem with that is my computer won't work in that mode it displays FAIL all the time. With the Lambda plug installed it seems to run too rich off the bottom, but runs good on top. I have ordered the JD tuner, I am hoping it will sort it out. One thing is for sure though the bike feels much stronger with it installed. It is a BOSCH brand, and the article I read says it came from the automotive side of things. The company explained to me they just bought a handful of them and tried them one by one until they came up with one that works. One side note mine didn't run well with the SA installed in the silencer, especially with the just the O2 unplugged. But it ran ok with it in when in the power up mode. I hope I get the JD tuner by this weekend so I can play with it some.

Bdsb says they are using an injector from a car which is what I was wondering if anyone had figured out yet. The forum guys are using a Kawasaki one. Anyone know what the car one is.

They Kawasaki injector is part number 49033-0011 and here is the best price I have found.

$47.96 http://www.2wheelpros.com/oem-parts...11-part.html?gclid=ckzz-cdc7becfujo4aod3tuava
I just got back from riding mine with the JD tuner installed and the injector, it runs good on top but now it really coughs down low, I mean really coughs. I played with a bunch of different settings, turning the accel. pump way down to 1 on the JD made it run the cleanest, but it still wanted to die when I bipped the throttle hard. I put the stock injector back in last night with the JD tuner, and I think it made it run a lot cleaner down low, not as much mid range hit but much better down low, at least from what I could tell going up and down the road in front of my house. I will take it to the track later today and give it a try. It ran the best with the O2 sensor just unplugged, but I can't live with an error message overriding all of my computer functions, I like having the odometer/hourmeter, and on the road sections the speedo is nice to have. The bike runs ok for normal riding but when on the track going through the really tight stuff is where the bike just doesn't want to run properly, I know its not me I can ride my KXF on the same sections and it runs flawlessly, and it is a stock MX bike. I wonder if the timing is off on mine, it doesn't start half the time with the electric starter, and sometimes it will fire and then backfire. I know some people have had a problem with this, I had the stator cover off a week ago, and couldn't see anything amiss, but I probably need to pull the flywheel to see if the key has bent, does anyone know if I can just pull the nut off of the flywheel, and see if it has slipped, or do I have to pull it?
