• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Robert you will need to get a new helmet to fit that new big head of yours.OR move up to expert and
come play with the big boys. When I turned 50 I thought I was fast now at 55 I try to be fast. BUT still having fun I call 55 the mid mag class. Enjoy it because from now on it gets harder to run with the young kids

Thank God there are still A-B splits in the old guy classes.......my saving grace call me Mr.B
John I dont have any Nat Champ plates on my wall (Prolly never will).
I have never raced above Int(B) level and as long as everyone is close at the end of the race I dont think like Im a sandbagger.
To me the old guy A class is for the former Pros or guys that have won B class championships and had to move up.
50A John your killing me- like my B level tank ass can keep up with LR or a number of other former Pro MX guys and former ISDE/Baja etc competitors that do the same rides as me.

Again disclaimer this is all tongue in cheek. My head is fat in size true 7.5 size, but not big in ego, I just love this sport of ours.
Ive ridden with/around/in the way of/and been passed by too many top tier world class riders to even think for moment Im a fast moto guy (Ivan Ramirez and Brandon Prieto passed and lapped me on Sat).
PS these are basically just local club events.

Robert I know how you feel Many a time I wish I could move back down.Like I said we say it is for fun but we sure try to win.I am just haveing fun at your expence about the bigger helmet.PLUS you did beat me last time we raced together.

hometown and format advantage at the anza enduro event......... in your dez even on your 1/8 liter machine all I will see is your dust old man!!

Nice avatar!!!

Don't let Rob fool any of you... he is faster than a lot of the 17 year old kids on 250's.... His big head slows him down in the tight nasty overhanging brush though!!!

East coasters, mid westers waiting for the cold to go.....then get out and represent**************************************** we are small be we are strong!!

Yeah man - I'm going to be 60 this summer and not sure what class to ride then.
I switched over from mt bikes 5 years ago and have moved up to being competitive in the 50 yr old B class here in Az (usually a dozen or so in the class).
Going to race the Husky for the 1st time this Sunday - I'll trophy for sure:thumbsup:

The funny thing is, if you work out I have found I have become faster in my old age at 46. Not sure whats in store for next year (nagging knee injury) (open heart surgury 2 years ago and a bloddy stint installed 2 weeks ago!) but up until that knee injury I was running app 20 miles a week. Wow what a difference. In mn at least in enduros easily able to be in top 20 overall at enduros the last 2 years! best was a 12th overall 2 years ago. And hec I raced Vet A instead this year (DNF)(pipe came out of the cylinder) messed me up, but still finished 2nd for the year. I refuse to slow down and am beating guys I never used to! I do believe you have to have the skill of course, but excercise and eating right as you get older are certinaly ways to get faster or at least maintain. If I make it to 50 I to will sandbag! (would have got 1st at every senior A race3 this year had I entered that class. Robertaccio, thats right we are small but most guys I know who ride Huskys are dedicated to them!! So get out there on that TE and win some more!! I hope I can this year to!!

Fletch my open heart surgery bro!!! 2 years ago this spring. keep the healthy food intake and at least a little exercise going man!!
"In 3 years I'm going to sanbag the 50 AM class and get me some shinny plastic :D "

or do like I did and race in the younger guys 40B class because there was no 50 class in the "real" Tecate HS race (PM-Pro long/ hard course race) and beat up on the 40Bs and get a very coveted non-plastic- wooden LAMC plaque for the blood sweat and broken brake 2nd place effort (waaaa waaa violins playing)

or enter the 45+ open class and finish 2nd to win a non-plastic all welded steel laser cut trophy in another local club race (a non plastic thingy for the excitment and danger of drifting and doing my best SM style through the streets of Tecate mex.) waaa waaa tears flowing.

hell im 35 and know most you older cats would smoke me lol keep up the good work by the way!

I'm 44 and will definitely kick your ass WR5.9.... lets bring it on ... SoCal MX Husky Rumble!!! Hell... I'm gunning for Robs spot on the podium... time to kick the box out from under the geriatric club....

LOL!!!
