• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The most successful US Husky ammie racer at the moment......

A 47 I always thought it would be EZ racing the older classes and just found out it was the tough old pros that hung around and it just gets harder :D

I was thinking the same way ... But if a guy was fast in earlier days, he's probably fast in his later days ... All you can hope for is that he has a demanding job and cannot train ...

Get on a bike and we are all 20yrs old again ... Except for the poor eyesight :)

I heard that Rob is the new factory Zip Ty Rider......???:excuseme:

After looking at his new 310 one WOULD think he has a direct line to the parts dept at Zip Ty Racing

Rob you have more Zip Ty on your bike then the Zip Ty Racing CR 300 I purchased from Zip Ty Racing
HA HA Must be a 4 stroke thing

Does ice racing count against the kids at 58yrs. old?

Rob, time to move up to 50+(A, Expert) class. But tomorrow sure is gonna be nice to hit the trail with you and LR!!! 2 "Old" guys and me, trying to keep up with both of you's!!! Were gonna be getting the LR treatment tomorrow thats for sure. See what 2012 he brings out to play with WR250, TXC 310????

that was a good work out. great pace. that freaking Dai Jones UK Welshman frieght train never ceases to amaze me. LR has been amazing since the 70s for goodness sakes, never surprising when he wicks it up to goodbye speed........ the 310 is a weapon. TXC250,TXC310,TE310 the x-lite armada and the UK guy on his Kato530!!!(freight train). fun stuff

You're the man Rob!

OK Rob - I finished 2nd today after being dead last off the line (dead engine start I gave it too much too soon and it died)

End of the month is here so work has been busy - Keeping it short....
The race was in Globe, Az - 12 mile single track loop with lots of rocks and little enduro-x section. Hands behind the back dead engine start - with the Rekluse I had it in 2nd gear and gassed it too soon as it lit - it died - and I was dead last off the start. Not a huge deal since they throw the checkered flag at 2 hours and I figure I'll be running 30 minute laps so ...
The little TXC310 was the perfect bike. With the JD Tuner and the Akra it has more punch down low and was very easy to ride. I should have taken another click out of fork compression as it kicked to the side a few times but overall very impressive - especially since it's almost stock. Even the grips were great - no blisters!
I took my time picking off riders - even passed the guy in 40B who sold me the bike on the first lap. I made a couple of mistakes but the e-start worked perfectly - and the injection throttle response made short work of logs and tires in the enduro-x section. When the pro's lapped me (including guys like Max Gerston who was just in the Hammer race) I shouldn't have tried to keep them in sight - I high speed low sided washing the front tire (which was going flat) and scratched my new Akra ...
I finished 4 laps in just over 2 hours - 48 miles - and had maybe just enough gas in the bike (and in my own 59 yr old tank) to finish 1 more lap - but it would have been close. I have 1 more race before I turn 60 and think I can run with the guys who have wins in 50B this year - 1 minute per lap faster in this race would have done it - and I was riding at 90% to save energy.
And Husky pays contingency money **************************************** $150 for 2nd place is pretty awesome ****************************************
