The number 3 is correct. That number essentially passes the stock ecu map through the JD tuner unchanged.
After having my bike set up with an opened air box, JD tuner and slip-on pipes for a while now, I decide to do an experiment. I set my JD tuner to all 3's, taped up the air box holes I drilled and put the oem snorkel back on. I didn't bother putting the stock cans back on because there wan no real performance gain with them alone. What a difference!!! OMG I would sell my bike if that was the maximum power output!!! I've been spoiled and used to the fantastic power my bike has with a few mods.
I have owned dirt bikes, street bikes, atvs, snowmobiles, trikes, boats and PWCs over the past 35 years. The Husqvarna TE630 is by far the most restriced motorcycle from the factory I have ever owned. It also responds to more air, fuel and exhaust flow better than any bike I've ever owned. The potential with the 630 engine is all there from the factory. There are twin exhaust header pipes, a giant air box and filter...and an efi system waiting to be richened up.
Even on a budget you can open up your 630's engine power. Gut your stock pipes, add a JD tuner and carefully drill some holes behind the white side plate in the air box cover. A few hundred dollars and some time spent will be rewarded with a new power house engine. I can't stress this enough!!!
