• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi all

I have dropboxed the te610/630 manual & parts catalogue which may be helpful for some when doing the work required to install the new washers
..

I have heard of a few people breaking the oil pump "lugs" when not aligning the case properly when putting it back..
I have also heard of someone missing a washer or putting it in the wrong place and then having a engine fail..

So it might be helpful to have the manuals handy

also here is the link to more info that may help everyone ( most have likely seen it before ) ..

Jtemple also posted a really nice how to on here somewhere.

2.5 hours in the post office and 30 odd packages have being sent. . Should be 7-10days.

Postage worked out a bit cheaper then I quoted, but I lost about $4 per order in pay pal fees so all up there was about $6 per order left after costs. I just want to make its all transparent as this was never a profit making exercise. I had spent a few $ extra of my own to have more sets made so this will cover that , and these sets can be used in the event of any going missing..

Happy wrenching, be kind to your Husky

No messing around nessy .. Nice work .. Yours are not to bad compated to the 610 ones i have seen with less k's .

Well hopefully this will add to the longevity of my 630.... just waiting for my new rear wheel with cush hub to arrive now J

Nice did you get a rad cush ?
I went rad cush laced to a did - ashs spoked wheels in brizzy did . We had to take 1mm of a spacer - change the bolts as they where contacting the cush and a bit of fiddling with the cush rubber to seat well..

I was looking at the RAD set up based on your previous post and experience and have dealt with Ash's Spoke Wheels a number of times too (Great Service BTW) - They quoted circa $1,200

Anyway, was chatting to the crew at Full Throttle about it the other day and they mentioned Talon do a kit with stainless spokes and cush for $1,200 so decided to go with that.

Hopefully it will be here this week.

Hi

What I cannot understand is, if BMW-Husqvarna knew that these washers was not right, ¿why didn’t they put all the warehouse washers into the waste and make a good ones like the ones made by Stujam? I mean, if you order a Husqvarna OEM washer, why are not these washers same quality like the ones ordered by Stujam? Is a tiny piece and so must not be expensive at all manufacture them right… :excuseme:

The bike was only sold for 2 (or 3) years, and the production numbers were fairly low.
By the time the problems started cropping up in considerable numbers, they were out of production.

May be you're right. But if you read post number 209 by wickedwill in this thread:
http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/swm-650-the-630-returns.80272/page-11
It seems that they knew about the problem, so why didn't make nothing about it?

Anyway, right now, in my opinion:
-If you order to KTM-Husqvarna these washers, ¿shouldn't be OK now?
-If you ask these washers to SWM, ¿shouldn't be OK now?

If they knew about the problem, both, KTM husqvana & SWM should now manufacture them properly... I guess

Otherwise it would be a shame that they keep making it bad or a shame for just not putting into the garbage all the previous stoc :excuseme:

Thanks for letting me know stinkman .. One of the lads in Alberta is still waiting for his , hopefully they turn up soon .

I've got a question about the clutch basket rivets. Are they mild steel? Thinking I might turn some up on my lathe.
