Hey guys, if all goes well I will be a new owner of a 2013/2014 TE511. It is 37" tall which is tall for me as I am 5' 6" and 28-29" inseam. 150lbs with full leathers on. 145 with regular round town gear.
I plan to install supermoto wheels on the bike in a month or two, but need to squeak by on the bike until then. Is there a decent amount of foam that can be removed from the seat?
I do not care if it uncomfortable, as it is mainly a around town, short commute (22 miles of twisty roads).
If I can legitimately shave the seat down 2" I would likely be perfect on the bike.
My ducati Hypermotard is 34" seat height and I am tip toe one footer at a light but it works out okay and has never been dropped.
My last supermoto was a Husqvarna 450smr and it was 36" seat height. I dropped the front as much as I could and it handled amazingly and was a bit lower which helped.
Can the te511 do with the forks being dropped without tank slapping at 80mph and bucking me off?
I assume I could adjust rear preload/sag down a bit to match the lowered front + the lowered seat, It should workout okay right?
Once the SM wheels are on, I will go a couple months, then have the suspension setup for real supermoto work. Lowered 1"/sprung/valved/ etc.
I bought the bike sight unseen and getting it delivered soon.
