• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How is the gear lever attached, pressed on?

"Blap" is a mode on the computer?

look closely it appears to have a clamp screw like the standard set up, its just blocked from view

I think I want the TE511...

....but wanna know more about the 6-spd i.e. wide ratio? If not I'm going for the Husaberg FE570 in August - blasphemy!!

Got lots of old 18x140 tire tubes around here somewhere....

I am hearing reports that the EFI on this bike is fantastic. Like the berg. If so, like the FE390 we can expect around 35-45 mpg even on the trail (maybe not race pace but trail riding) which at 2.2 gallons capacity i am hoping no need to refuel on a typical day.

Is it my imagination or does that seat look like a real seat as opposed to the upolstered 2x4's that weve been living with for the last few years?

The more I study the pix the more I like it. Looks well thought out and executed. They have been working overtime!!! Wonder if the mounting lug that is not in use right above the cam chain adjuster is for another model or a carryover from the G450x? Although it does not seem to be used there ether???

Anyone get the official story on what the "i" means.?

In eurospeak 'i' is commonly used to denote fuel injection. While we are used to it on TE Huskys, most of the dirt world is still on the fence about using EFI so I think this is just marketing to make sure the uninitiated know it is fuel injected.

The only model with the i designation is the TEi250. All the bigger bikes just have the TE449 or TE511 names.

There is definitely some confusion going on, I have seen it both ways. For the time being I'll remove the i from the thread title.

First person caught drooling over this and saying they are pawning their kids to get one and then complains it does not have a large enough gas tank(s) gets a beating.......so help me!

But Joe, it has Coaxial Traction System. And the valve caps are made from buffalo horn..... yeah buffalo horn. Do you know how rare that is?:notworthy:

I think the bike is horny as heck, BUT... if it doesnt get an amazing review by the US Mags, Husky is in big trouble in NA. I have talked to lots of customers who are scared of buying this bike because of the bad press the G450X got. I personally dont think it is going to sell real good until 2012 after the press decides if they like it and/or there are some good reports on sites like this. Nobody wants to be the guinea pig.

interesting that Husky switched to Keihin FI. I'm assuming ibeat isn't gonna work on it. Also wondering if the motor has a counter balancer.
