As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
I have a 2011 TE511 and have heard that I can have the dealer reflash the fuel injection to 2012 specs. Have any of you done this procedure? If so, what differences did you notice? Was it worth the trouble/expense? Thanks in advance.
What did you get reflashed to already having a 2012 model?
I am interested because I have a 2012 449 that stalled twice on one short single track section.
I have jumper and fmf but no JD tuner.
The JD Tuner comes pre-programed with the optimal settings so once installed it's ready to rip. The instructions explain how to fine tune it pretty clearly. How hard is it to tune the jd tuner? I don't have a clue when it comes to that sort of stuff.
Any updates? Wouldn't mind a map more suited to the Full TI Akra I have on my SMR.Not sure, but I have known the guys for years. I believe it is for the full akropivic system (that is not available here in the states), but I am not 100% on this. I will ak him the particulars and post up soon.
I talked with the guy that installed it. He said it is the map that is used for the full akropovic system so it may work out very well for you.Any updates? Wouldn't mind a map more suited to the Full TI Akra I have on my SMR.
Just got back from a little desert trip,@ SloChicken and tduzzi, Have you ridden your bike with the reflash? Did it help?
