Then you better not leave that thing sitting around where I can get to it and swap parts :-)
Guess I'll be locking up this, then.

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

Thanks Dan, Great minds think alike, i went to my local friendly Husky dealer yesterday and got new chain and sprockets, now running 13/52.Kinda late to this thread. Anyway, how about changing the gearing and maybe adjust your idle?

We have a 12 hour race here this weekend that I am in so I will let you know on Monday how it went!!
I also noticed last night starting it up from cold there was a little smoke, it went away once it was warmed up.
i checked the oil level, I must have put a bit too much in on the recent change, it was about 3/4 up the glass. Can this cause the somke?
with that type of gearing the chain guide will wear through in a few rides (plastic and guide frame)Guess I'll be locking up this, then.

I all so found that first and second gear were basically useless .I had this same set up.
Bike rode great on the weekend, gearing changed helped ALOT!! On the other hand I still need some workGood luck on your raceSometime the fix can be something easy. 13/52 sounds perfect.
Have you got any trouble with installing the rekluse.I have one on my husky 310 2012.Rekluse makes trange noise at low gear when I start riding with the bike once the bike is riding it works fine.Only when the bike needs to pull for starting a hill climb or start riding there is the strange noise in the clutch. It's just like the clutch is between working and not working in those 2 seconds. Can someone help me.What gearing did you have before? I run the standard 13 51 and just invested in a rekluse clutch which is fantastic no more stalling in tight riding around creeks tress etc well worth the investment I think.
On my 09 TE310 I went from 13/52 to 12/49 and I like this the best. I would have not believed it, but that 1 tooth on the rear makes enough difference that I don't have to use the clutch nearly as much in the tight stuff, and it still has acceptable top speed for me.
I agree, doesn't seem like much, but it works for me.13/52 = 4.00
12/49 = 4.08
I dont see how you can tell the difference?
