  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TCR Wheel Anodizing

Actually got them tonight. They are okay, im not super impressed. Will see what they look like mounted up. Ill try and get a pic sometime this weekend.

I have anodized several sets of wheels and 250$ a set is a fair price. When I go through the work of making the rims black though, I powder coat the hubs, then clean up and polish the centers on the lathe:

I like black rims too.

Nice tyre, D606? Are your rims painted or anodised?

Despite the lengthy turnaround time and lack of communication, why are you not impressed? Is there anything specific to workmanship that one should be concerned about? By the way you're bike looks great with black wheels!

Idk as far as the anodizing goes it looks good by all means, it was everything else that was bad.

I get it man, piss poor service can kill it even when you get the finished product. I too think they turned out great though. So whats next on the list for your bike?

I actually will be starting a new thread soon. It will be a build up of my bike with some helmet cams and pictures thrown in as well as how the mods performed and what did and didn't work. I just need to sell my yz250 first. It is actually here in the classifieds on cafehusky. That is my old bike, but i still have it. I will take the money I make from that and start adding stuff to the husky. I am also going to keep in my the number $1,900 as that is how much I saved over buying a new 2013 txc310, to see if i can take that $1,900 and build a better performing bike than the stock '13. All of it will come in the new thread once my yz sells. Can't wait

Sounds great. Even though the 2012's are considered dinosaurs now lol, I really can't imagine a better bike. I loved my time on the 12 310 and would pick one up in a heartbeat

Ouch...I've never heard someone call them Dinosaurs. Just because they have a more basic engine than the '13 doesn't mean it's a dinosaur.

The wheels look great. I spent about $550 to purchase a set of black 11 wheels to put on my 12 so for a bit over $300 I think you got a bargain. Sorry the service was shitty, I told you about their situation but that's no excuse. FYI, I took my last set to them on monday and picked them up the same week on Thursday.

Sorry I was just thinking of all of the "should I get a 12 or 13" threads lol. With the savings you got I'm really interested to see how it will compare to a 13. Hurry up and sell that YZ :)

I am trying. It's tough finding commited buyers in this economy. Check out my bike in the classifieds as I believe it's the only yz250 in there and let me know what you think and spread the word!
