• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

silverstreakNZ,

Because you have to get your hand in there to access the fuel tap
...
I might just take my Sherco for a lap around the backyard now... breeep..

Those bikes are lightweight and very well made. Lots of thought went into their design. I would kill for a 300 SE-R.

awesome bikes I rode the previous model 300 4st very similar to my te310 perhaps a little more trials oriented - not too sure about the availability down under parts etc?

Parts down under? - I haven't needed too much but have bought springs, rear sprocket, plastics, bash plate, air filter... no problem. Pipe guard from US but I believe Force make one now.

Frame geometry is essentially the same as the last Suzuki RM250 2strokes, so no secret it turns so well from all reports. Never rode one but had a good look and its made very well, supurb detail. The importer is also a good guy who will make sure your satisfied. He used to import the GGs and helped me a great deal with the many issues I had.

What makes these bikes better than buying a KTM/Husky?
Think it has more to do with the fact that it's not a KTM. Flawless estart helps and my favorite part is power setting button. It controls the ignition and electronic powervalve. Japenese don't build anything to compete with ktms offroad models (other then the yz250fx) and beta and sherco have picked up the slack.

Very nice looking bikes. I'm looking very closely at the Sherco or Beta for my next smoker. Glad they are both really stepping it up and giving us some great options.
