• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Serco

I rode the 300 2 and 4 stroke... really liked it but only draw back is a small brand and support could be iffy at times....

Even getting parts for the new Husqvarna is slim to none. Try getting a clutch lever I heard that complaint already.

From what I have heard and scene the Gas Gas enduro bikes are pretty heavy and outdated. They also have the crappy side mount starter like KTM. The state of the art starter is what steered me to Sherco and Beta and I really think the Sherco has a slicker more trouble free package.
I respectively disagree, Gassers are about 15 lbs heavier than most modern mxers, which is largely unnoticeable by most mortal humans...as far as power, and handling,I feel they are by far as good as anything else on the current market.. but I don't have first hand knowledge of the Sherco either..Clay did very well by me when I was a GasGas dealer in '10-'12... I still love the Gassers, and just bought a '15 EC125 in April from Bud Matto in Pottsville,PA... I've only heard good things about Shercos, and if Clay is involved ...you won't be let down, imho..

ridiculous?
right
obviously, you're a rock star...I, and most other recreational riders, are mere mortals...I'm hoping to lose 15 lbs off my body, prior to death...maybe
thank you sir

It's 6 kilo whilst seeing both sides of the argument I would say that some of that will just be over engineering.

Do we know if that's dry claimed weight on both machines? That's only a tank of fuel so if one's wet an ones dry then it could quite easily be the difference.

Well that's against the old KTMs. They're now going to be about 25 pounds different. This mere mortal isn't buying a GG until the weight is down because I value my money. They are in my opinion the best looking bikes right now (2017). Sounds like Torrot will do great things with GG. Hope so.

On the other hand, none of these bikes are practical, buy whatever makes you happy.

Yep even the boys(n gals) on the GG forum all say weight is the biggest thing holding the bikes back. Heavy engine n swingarm. Still look cool tho! Hope next year they have a new bike out or heavily revised at least. Beta n Sherco be due new 2ts too as they both around 5 years old by then

 waiting patiently for a ride report

kind of odd starter but once running it is a delight to ride
the bike makes good power on the 1st switch and great power on the 2nd switch
easy to ride in tight terrain, the tires were useless in the soft sand but pretty grippy everywhere else
it handles quite nimbly in the tight stuff and offers stability on the open terrain
did not really push it due to a shoulder injury, after surgery i will do a more complete assessment

I bought a 2017 300 SEF-R and it is better than any Italian Husky I ever owned. That hurt to say... a lot.

they really are better, we own some of our Huskys for passion, that said they were the bike in their day my 99 360 is as good as my 2002 380 and better than my brothers 1999 360 Ktm
look at hard enduro results Sherco is or was 1st and 3rd this year

you mean 15-20 pounds heavier then other endure bikes I guess I disagree...any normal A class rider will tell you the gasser is heavy....feels heavy...brakes can't keep up with the weight...engine is ok...and is a vibrating pig when compared to a 17 husky or ktm...yes they are dependable and good looking...but....18s are still heavy by today's standards...and still vibrate...but are probably a vast improvement...dont get me.wrong I've had gassers as far back as 97....ill take a 2011 nambo with 48 mm zokes...great bike..but a 17 husky is the new standard to beat...sherco would love to ride one!
